Australia Post expects major international delivery delays due to flight cancellations and government restrictions because of COVID-19. Australia Post is working with partner airlines and other postal operators to move items as quickly as possible. However, due to the ever-changing situation, delays may occur in all destination countries.
Australia Post has suspended Economy Services for parcels until further notice so items will be sent as 'Standard' (tracked). If you would like to organise your package to be sent 'Express' which is quicker please contact me before purchasing. Australia Post says Express items will be given priority over Standard items during this time.
Australia Post is currently no longer able to provide international delivery services some countries. Before ordering please check the website below to see if I can send to your country. If you are unsure please send me a message.

***Thank you for visiting! I hope you are well and taking care at this time :) As it is an uncertain time worldwide I thought I would give you a brief update. I always work from home & my stock is kept in a clean separate storage room which only I enter. I am making & shipping items as usual. As one who previously worked in nursing I do understand the importance of taking the utmost care to protect you in all that I do - this is my usual practice. Please note that although shipping at my end in Sydney Australia is taking place as usual, due to current world events your items may take longer than usual to arrive. Please take care and thank you all so much for your support and kind messages.***
I make all items in Sydney Australia from quality certified organic fabrics carefully sourced from around the world as I care about the environment and those who live in it.
All items are made from fabrics in-stock so even if your item is Made-To-Order it will normally be in the mail in a few days. However, if you have a particular fabric in mind you would like me to use please contact me.
New Australian made, quality organic goods including clothing, bags, linen, and toys will regularly be listed.
If you see a fabric you like but would like it made into a different item please message me as I would love to make something special for you.
If you enjoy sewing as much as I do and would like to make something yourself from the fabrics I have used I have spare fabric in most prints. Please check my other Etsy shop "The Organic Maker"

Certified organic fabric I use is available at "The Organic Maker" www.theorganicmaker.etsy.com
I have been sewing for around 30 years and have been interested in sewing for as long as I can remember.
My grandmother was an experienced seamstress and sewed regularly throughout her life. As a young woman she worked in a shirt factory. Later as a mother of four children (my mother and her siblings) she sewed their clothing, sometimes unpicking unwanted adult clothing and refashioning the fabric into clothes for them. She also sewed her own clothes and carefully repaired my grandfather's clothing.
I grew up with my mother sewing clothes for myself and my siblings. I have fond memories of comfortable raglan sleeve peasant dresses my mother would make for my sister and myself (I will be selling similar girl's dresses in my shop). I also remember a nightie she made for me which I loved so much I ended up wearing it as a dress!
One of my earliest memories of learning to sew is watching my mother sew a pinafore for me from corduroy fabric, thick fabric that is not the easiest fabric to sew with a home sewing machine... I remember it was a bit of a struggle for Mum and this was made more difficult as I was asking questions and just unintentionally distracting her... A few sewing needles were broken as a result...
I thought it was amazing the nice things my mother could make from a piece of fabric and I think this made me more determined than ever to learn. I wanted to have a machine of my own so I bought a little child's sewing machine. I was most disappointed at the skipped stitches and lack of quality so the machine was returned and I continued to learn and sew on my mother's Janome sewing machine she had received from her parents on her 21st birthday. To continue this tradition, on my 21st birthday I received a Janome from my parents too as had my sister and I enjoyed having a machine all to myself. It was used many times and then on my 30th birthday my husband gave me a computerised Janome sewing machine and also a Janome overlocker. It was nice to have an overlocker at last and both machines have proved to be very useful.
I still love sewing and have added to my machines and sewing tools with items such as a walking foot (now I have one I can't believe I didn't get one sooner!) and a KAM snap press that enhance the quality of sewing and making items. I also add to my collection of organic fabric at every possible opportunity.
When my first child was born I enjoyed sewing nice, useful things for them. There is only so much one family can use so I would like others to enjoy some of the things I make and put to good use some of the lovely organic fabric I have collected.

Frequently asked questions
Shipping/postage costs seem a little expensive?
It is difficult to calculate the exact shipping costs, particularly overseas so occasionally you may be charged more than it costs.
If you just would like to order right away feel free to and I will refund any significant overcharge.
Alternatively, I am happy to calculate shipping costs if you contact me with what you are interested in.If you wish I can set up a custom listing with exact shipping.
Eco-friendly packaging?
I aim to use eco-friendly packaging where possible. If using plastic I usually reuse clean packaging which would have otherwise been discarded. If you would like no plastic used at all please contact me for shipping options.
Custom and personalised orders
If you would like to see the fabric I use to make items I am happy to send you several samples free with an order if they fit in the package. Samples without an order are $0.25 (AUD) each + postage/shipping.
Shipping?
I try to keep shipping costs as affordable as possible. International orders aren't tracked & don't have insurance unless this is organised before ordering. Smaller orders sent within Australia are not tracked or insured. Larger orders within Australia may have tracking but please contact me before ordering to confirm there will be tracking or if you would like insurance.
I ship orders with care. In the unlikely event an order is delayed or goes missing I will do all I can to assist but I'm not able to provide refunds as once the item has shipped it is out of my hands.
Insurance, tracking, or express post must be organised before ordering as orders often dispatch quickly.
Shipping Times?
I can let you know how long the postal service estimates your package will take to arrive but can not guarantee when your order will arrive. Although your package will most likely arrive sooner please allow at least 6 weeks internationally unless you organise express shipping with me. Items sent around holiday times may take longer. Items sent to Canada may take up to around 3 months.
Colour & Pattern Placement
Colours of items may vary slightly to what is displayed.
Pattern placement on items may vary according to where an item is cut from the fabric. If purchasing items with a directional print and you would like to be sure of the final appearance of what you are ordering (eg. direction of print on a bassinet sheet) you may want to contact me before ordering as pattern placement and direction may vary depending on the size of the item.
