Announcement Yes, it's true. It is with very mixed emotions that I've decided to close the Dear Edna shop, at least temporarily. You can read more about my decision and follow along with my creative journey on my blog www.dearedna.com.

This is very flattering and practical. I really like the long straps as they can be tied at the front.

Bold Prints, Classic Shapes
I began teaching myself to sew at a young age and have fond memories of playing underneath my grandmother’s quilting frames. However, it wasn’t until I had spent four years at university, two years abroad, and three years in "the big city" that I decided to move back to my hometown, reignite my relationship with my sewing machine, and finally turn my life-long hobby into a creative business.
All of the accessories I create are designed, sewn, and printed by hand in my home studio in Hamilton, Ontario. I like to work with bold prints and classic shapes to create designs that value quality and practicality above all else. I spend countless hours scouring warehouses, backrooms and catalogues to find that perfect shade or texture of fabric, and a single apron strap may see four or five different drafts. There's no sense in making a pretty apron if you can't bake in it, right? I'm constantly inspired by the past and the handmade tradition, which explains all the floral, houndstooth and plaid; but also, more importantly, I make my pieces to last, ready to be passed down for generations.
Outside of the sewing room, I'm an editor, tea fanatic, bookworm and baker.
