Announcement   This summer is starting out extremely hot in southern Arizona. We are in the desert, I guess that is to be expected. Part of my studio is in my garage which means it is 107 in there. It has turned me into a very early morning person. It does limit studio time for the summer. LOL I have added some new BoHo rings and am working on some cuff bracelets that are beautiful.
Thank you for stopping by and looking.

About

When life throws you a curve ball....make jewelry!

What a journey I have had and am still having. My jewelry business started when my 36 year marriage ended. Getting divorced at my age, I thought was a sure shot to be on Oprah with all of the other women at my age whose men were leaving them.
I needed something to get me involved and keep me busy. I was watching a TV craft show (Carol Duval). She was making jewelry that day. I loved what she was doing so I grabbed some string, old beads, some copper and forged ahead. I then took a few classes, bought tons of supplies and jumped in.

I worked mostly in fine silver and beautiful semi-precious stones. For the first two years, I sent my jewelry to my sister in Texas, my daughter in LA and gave it away to friends. They were always being asked where they got their jewelry. It was the two of them that convinced me I should start selling. Thus, the name "Jilted Jewels" came into being.

I had to move from NY, so I traveled to a small island North West of Seattle. I moved in with a dear friend for awhile, got a little part time job and was making jewelry on my friends dining room table. I then had the opportunity to build a house on a little lot that I had for a number of years. This was the most cathartic thing and the most fun I have ever had.
Now I am all settled into my cozy little house, getting used to being a single woman in my 50's. Got a little part time job, made some new friends and was managing to put my life back together.
Enter stage left, a new man in my life. I met the sweetest, most loving, caring Canadian man I could imagine. To make a long story short, after 3 years of commuting every weekend back and forth to my little island and his home in Canada, we were married. I am now living with hubby in southern Arizona. I am learning Silversmithing and loving it. You will soon see pieces here. I am still creating jewelry after six years, and I still love creating my little pieces of art to wear.
Hugs,
Deborah
PS I changed my shops name to Deborah Breining Designs. The Jilted Jewels just didn't fit my new life. :))))
PSS: I moved back to the US. I am now in Kerrville, Texas close to my sister. What a joy this is.
