I try to create a painting that makes me feel wonder, happiness and love. It's that elation and knowing that makes you feel more alive. This is what I hope my customers feel when they look at their new purchase on their wall.

After creating artwork, sharing my art is so vital. Being able to connect with customers is wonderful. Finding people that like our work fuels us on to create more art. It's a wonderful circle of creation.

Keeping an excellent customer service rating is extremely important to us. We treat our customers very well and value their purchase and appreciation of our artwork.

~Isabelle

Bill Hardesty's paintings are an homage to history and honoring old buildings. His photographs capture nature's beauty and remind us to cherish nature.

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR NEW ART:

Our art prints are printed on the finest professional archival paper. When you frame you art, be sure not to have your print in direct sunlight. Keep water away from your print too, that includes humidity. I wouldn’t hang my favorite art print in my bathroom, or in my kitchen near any steam.

HOW DO I GET MY SILK SCARF TO BE SOFT?

Silk is a natural fiber, similar to hair. Likewise, using a hair conditioner will acheive that new Ellebasi scarf feel. How do I know? I use a hair conditioner on of my Ellebasi scarves during the pre-handwash that I do on ALL of my scarves! I've been doing this for years and customers love it!

HAVE HAMMER AND NAIL - NOW WHAT?

If you're like me, hanging up a piece of art on the wall is a BIG deal. Where does it go? Should I have it in a group or by itself. Does it look cluttered or does it make a statement? The best way for me is to sketch it out and think about it for a day BEFORE I hammer holes or use the various hanging devices out there.

The old hammer and nail is a winning combo, however, take a stroll in a your local hardware store and discover new updated ways to hang art on your walls that are more secure and kinder to your walls. I personally love the Hercules Hook for a quick fix. Twist, push and turn! No hammer needed-if it's going into drywall. It holds up to 150 lbs too! And it leaves a discreet hole in the wall, not a gapping hole into another world. :)

Mix it up when you’re hanging your new art on the wall. Use grouping or an asymmetrical, or uneven format to add pizzazz to your home’s wall. Be sure to keep your beautiful candles from your art too! Don’t laugh, I visited an artist’s friends’ home and she was busy fixing one of her paintings that a client mistakenly put near a candle-oops! We want to keep fires in the fireplace.

QUICK FIX FOR A SAGGY CANVAS:

Speaking of original artwork, if you ever have a painting on canvas that has a dent from the rear poking to the front, similar to what happens to sweaters on hangers, there is a simple solution. Simply pour regular tap water into a clean spray bottle and spray the back of the painting and rub it in a bit. You may need to carefully lay the painting on its face on a soft surface for a few hours as it dries. Soon you will see a perfect or almost perfect painting again. The secret is that the water helps the cotton shrink up a bit!

GOING GREEN WITH PACKAGING:

All of the packaging I use can be used again for various purposes. The Priority Mail cardboard envelope protects your art as it flies its way to you. It can also be used for:
~Organizing incoming mail
~A great canvas for a decoupage project, some glue, water, and brush voila a cool storage
~Cut up and use under a potted plant
~Coupon holder
~Menu holder
~Receipt holder When all else fails, be sure to toss it into the recycling bin!

***The USPS Priority Mail envelope I use is made of recycled paper and has been awarded the "Cradle to Cradle" certification for their ecologically-intelligent design. For more info go to mbdc.com/usps

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH MATTING?:

It's easy to overlook the importance of matting when framing a new piece of art. We put alot of time and energy in the frame, but hold on, mats are important too. The lead the eye into the painting, art print or photograph. They can add pizzaz or set the stage.

Be sure to remember the two important dimensions, the inner dimension, which should be a little smaller than your artwork and the outer dimension, which should be the size of your frame, minus a fraction of an inch to allow for a good but snug fit.

When purchasing your mat, always opt for the ever popular acid free mats. They're archival, which will allow you to cherish your art for decades to come.

THE FAME OF THE FRAME:

Artists have a love hate relationship with frames. We love a good solid frame that enhances our artwork, not overtakes it. However, I've seen many frames that may have seemed "too busy" and once I've set my painting in it, it becomes part of the whole artwork. Have fun with your framing! There are many eco freindly ways to go too! You can create your own. Find exquisite frames in a second hand store or antique store. There are wonderful wooden frames that are created from harvested wood that is sustainable and renewable. Read the packaging and go green. There are metal and plastic frames that can add beauty and set the stage for your art too.

A great way to do it yourself is to go to your local art store or a bigger store like Ikea or Target and bring your new art with you. Look at how the mat works with the colors and overall look of your new art. Look at the frames. You may have wanted a black frame, but now that you see how the silver works, maybe that's an option. Be open to the different possibilities, then choose.

When in doubt or if you're just too busy, take it to the professionals! If it's within you're budget, splurge and leave it to the professionals.
