This bag is beautifully made. Both sides are so nice I can't decide which to show on the outside. The dyed side is very unique and looks clean and stylish. The side with two colors is made of a slippery material that has a subtle texture, sort of like handmade paper. The straps are securely attached. It's a good medium-sized bag, perfect for every day use. It could fit a laptop. There is a slight stiffness to the bag so it hold its form, making it look more upscale than your average fabric bag. Definitely a great find, I will buy more items from decorativework.

I love this bag! It's an attractive casual bag without being sloppy. Very well made, the straps are attached securely. I can fit my ipad, a couple of books and more into this bag. The outside fabric is soft and a bit slippery. It has a nice subtle visual texture to it, sort of like handmade paper. I liked it so much I decided to get another bag for my mother.

I Absolutely LOVE this bag! Its super durable and versatile, I have been using it for everything, from lugging my sewing stuff around, to carrying my groceries. It has a nice weight to it and feels much sturdier than the average lined tote.

contemporary one of a kind dyed textiles
decorative work is where i focus my creativity towards the making of useful yet beautiful items for people who appreciate the value of contemporary one of a kind textiles in world of mass production.
I handcraft each and every one of my accessories and home goods in my Long Beach, California studio, inspired by the intricacy of a well crafted poem or text, especially the work of poet Lisa Robertson, where I found my shop name.
Each piece of fabric is created over a 3 day process, hand painted with textile dyes in original designs that blend the geometric with the organic using subtle colors that have a vintage mood.
and just like people, no two items are ever alike.
Owner, Creator, Curator
Trained as an artist in sculpture and textiles, an avid reader and thriftier, I've yet to figure out just where in this vast etsy landscape I belong. Rather than wait for an answer, I've decided to get started anyway, figuring it out along the way...
