A gallery of forgotten light.
Sono Yana, fotografa e artista visiva specializzata in immagini cinematografiche dalle atmosfere cupe.
Qui tutto inizia con una macchina fotografica, di solito in una foresta o in riva all'acqua, di solito nella fredda ora blu quando la luce è quasi scomparsa. Scatto, poi costruisco: sovrappongo, compongo e dipingo in Photoshop finché l'inquadratura non diventa un luogo, ma una semplice fotografia. Nebbia, alberi spogli, acqua immobile, una figura solitaria in un abito scuro. Scene di film mai realizzati.
Alcune persone mi hanno detto che le mie opere sembrano ricordi che non riescono a collocare con precisione. È la descrizione più vicina a ciò che cerco di esprimere. Io la definisco una galleria di luce dimenticata.
PERCHÉ LE STAMPE
Per anni quest'opera è esistita solo sugli schermi. Le stampe sono la versione che ho sempre desiderato: quella con cui convivere, che cambia al variare della luce nella stanza, che si può riscoprire in un grigio pomeriggio tra due anni.
COSA RICEVERAI
Ogni opera è stampata su carta opaca di alta qualità, resistente allo sbiadimento e di livello museale. La finitura opaca è voluta: niente riflessi, e i neri profondi e i blu freddi mantengono la loro intensità invece di appiattirsi sotto il vetro.
Le stampe vengono realizzate su ordinazione, senza giacenze in magazzino, e vengono prodotte e spedite da stabilimenti negli Stati Uniti e nell'UE, garantendo così una consegna rapida ovunque vi troviate. Ogni stampa viene spedita arrotolata in un tubo protettivo, senza cornice, pronta per essere incorniciata a vostra scelta. Le dimensioni sono standard, quindi incorniciare è facile ed economico.
UNA NOTA SULLA PROVENIENZA DI QUESTO
Vivo e lavoro nell'Europa dell'Est, dove gli inverni sono lunghi e la luce è esattamente quella che continuo a fotografare. Le stampe permettono a questo lavoro di raggiungere persone che altrimenti non potrei mai fotografare, ed è proprio per questo che esiste questo negozio.

I'm Yana - a photographer and visual artist working in dark cinematic imagery.
Everything here starts with a camera, usually in a forest or at the edge of water, usually in the cold blue hour when the light is almost gone. I shoot, then I build: layering, compositing and painting in Photoshop until the frame becomes a place rather than a photograph. Fog, bare trees, still water, a single figure in a dark dress. Scenes from films that were never made.
People have told me my work feels like a memory they can't quite place. That's the closest anyone has come to describing what I'm reaching for. I call it a gallery of forgotten light.
WHY PRINTS
For years this work only existed on screens. Prints are the version I always wanted - the one you live with, that changes as the light in your room changes, that you notice again on a grey afternoon two years from now.
WHAT YOU'RE GETTING
Each piece is printed on heavyweight archival matte paper with fade-resistant, museum-grade inks. Matte is deliberate: no glare, and the deep blacks and cold blues hold their depth instead of flattening under glass.
Prints are made after you order - nothing sits in a warehouse - and are produced and shipped from facilities in the US and EU, so most orders reach you quickly wherever you are. Everything ships rolled in a protective tube, unframed, ready for the frame of your choosing. Standard sizes, so framing is easy and inexpensive.
A NOTE ON WHERE THIS COMES FROM
I live and work in Eastern Europe, where the winters are long and the light is exactly the kind I keep photographing. Prints let this work reach people I could never otherwise shoot for - which is the whole reason this shop exists.
