Julee is amazing, she's kind, quick at getting this ready, and super nice. She was very good at ensuring I was happy through each step of the way (verifying yarn colour, etc.) and the end result is amazing! I gifted it for Christmas and received so many compliments so much so that others have asked if I can order it for them. Julee is very sweet and packages these very nicely. She had some extra yarn and made me a cute bonus gift! Thank you Julee, I cannot express to you enough how much I love this!

I purchased this for my Mom and Stepdad, knowing it would be perfect for their personalities, and they LOVED it! They were so tickled, and thought they were really cool.

Love this headband. I'm making a beanie version of it with an option to make it a slouchy hat

My accidental passion. I couldn't put it down once I started.

My shop was formerly know as Deknit which came about when my friends would always make fun of me for knitting and crocheting while studying or at parties. I felt as a young person knitting, I was undoing who society expected to be knitters: I was de-knitting societal expectations of who knitters were.

My grandparents used to watch me and my sisters when we were going up. Being a child who couldn’t sit still unless she was doing something, a neighbor decided to teach me how to crochet at 10 years old. Since then, I’ve been hooked. It started with mini-hats that could only fit dolls.

At 18, I wandered into a yarn store and signed up for knitting lessons. Since then, I’ve been enjoying combining knitting and crocheting to make unique accessories and making items people will love to wear.

Now, 10+ years later, I have finally decided to change the name. Currently in Hawaii, I came across the word Nalu which means wave 🌊 . This wonderful can also be poetically translated to mean 'to go with the flow'. So 'Nalu it' means 'just go with it'. This embodies my attempt at how to approach my life. Although not perfect, I try my best to just Nalu it.

Each item is designed and made with care and love by me.

I'm a graduate student who likes to knit/crochet while studying. I found it helps to relax me. In my free time, I love exploring other crafts, rock climbing, working out and just being happy and living life to the fullest.

Welcome to Deknit!! I have been crocheting since the 4th grade when my friend's grandma taught me how to. Knitting I didn't learn until I was 18. I went to China a little after to teach English for 6 months where I found a yarn store tucked away in an alley. I bought some yarn and needles and started playing around with it and found myself head over heels in love with it. I have been knitting ever since. Whatever I make I make because it's something I would like to wear that I don't see in stores. Sometimes, my sister inspires me by asking if I could make something. If you have anything you would like to see, definitely talk to me!
