If you cant't find it, do it yourself!

Everything started years ago, when I discovered the decoupage technique. But I was unhappy with the papers and napkins I found for this craft. I wanted to use my own photos and designs for it.
I puzzled quite a while over it and finally I found a way to get my own pictures on very thin decoupage paper. The Dekoversum, the DECOuniVERSE was born!
In the meantime I had a baby and now I had to step up to the plate to balance my family life, my job and my little Dekoversum.

That was the time when I discoverd the "good old" wall calender as our little family headquarters. I tried to find a suitable calendar for it, but to no avail: We are able to fly to the moon and our smartphones have more processing power than the huge mainframes from the 80s but still we have to fill in the federal holidays by hand, every year? Really?

So I decided: Do it yourself! I started to design a calendar that would live up to our family expectations. In Germany we have the situation that school kids have a different schedule every day. That is quite a challenge, when you have to keep track of the schedule of two or even more kids. Therefore a lot of my calendars have schedules included.

Frequently asked questions
What kind of paper is used for the calendar pages?

Dekoversum calendar pages are printed on paper that is made out of 100% recycled fibers.
The paper is FSC certified and has the Blue Angel (Der Blaue Engel) certification. This is a German certification for products that have environmentally friendly aspects.

How are the calendar pages printed?

The calendar pages are digitally printed in my little workshop under the roof in Markt Schwaben near Munich in Germany. The printers that are used run with green electricity.

Why is the back of the calendar made of plastic?

The back of the Dekoversum calendars is made to be kept. The idea is to keep the plastic back with the disc binding and to refill it year after year with new calendar pages. Therefore the back of the calendar has to be tough and durable. It has to be tear-resistant and you should be able to clean it with a damp cloth (for example when your calendar hangs in the kitchen).
