Frequently asked questions
Are these images printed from a computer?

No! I hand carve the plate, hand ink it, and run it through a hand-cranked printing press! You will get something that is handmade!

What do the numbers mean on the print?

Edition or Varied : every print is essentially the same, the prints will be numbered consecutively (ex: an edition of 20 prints- prints would be numbered 1/20, 2/20, and so on).
Monoprint: I use the same linoleum block but make each print different, so they are not part of an edition; therefore, each print is unique even though the same block is used. In this case, each print is numbered 1/1, which means it is a one of a kind.
Monotype: Also (1/1). I don't use a carved block. The prints are made using a different process, & each one will be a 100% original. The only time there might be a similar print with monotype is if I can get a second "ghost print" in which there is enough leftover ink on my work surface to get a lighter 2nd print.

How do I frame my print? Does it need a mat?

I almost always sell fit-to-frame prints, which means they can easily fit inside a standard, easy-to-find frame. That means they do not need a mat, but if you would like to purchase one, make sure it is archival quality if you plan on keeping it around for a while, because cheaper options will turn the prints yellow over long periods of time.
Sizes of prints are in listings. If there is a print that is not a standard size, I will draw attention to that in the listing.

Do you do commissions?

In short, no, I do not at this time.
Because of the process, it is not practical to custom carve and print a block for someone. It would not be re-usable for myself, and I would have to charge a good chunk of change for the time it would take and materials for custom colors. I just can't work them in at this time. Apologies.
