Announcement
Hello,
Konichiwa,
I'm half Japanese, half Belgian, a "half & half", demi demi in French.
Welcome in the world of Japanese kimono. Come with me for an incredible journey, between Japan and Belgium, between tradition and renewal.
To give a second life to these textile treasures sleeping in the drawers, i'm hunting in Japan, vintage kimonos and obis (kimono belt), or never used kimono fabric bolts.
All my findings are transformed in my small sewing room in Belgium into home decor and fashion accessories.
In love with Japan? Let enter into your home the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.
I love to sublimate the smallest of fabric pieces, following my inspiration and findings, and to make of each of my creations a unique piece. Let take you away to the land of rising sun.

Japan made in Belgium. Giving a new life to vintage kimono.
Hello,
Konichiwa,
I am half Japanese, half Belgian......"Demi Demi" means "half half" in French. From my small sewing room in Brussels, I give a second life to vintage kimono fabrics, transforming them into cushion covers, scarves and bags. I also use these incredible craftsmanship fabrics to embellish denim jackets.
My personal blog "Demi Demi Blog", started in 2011 is founded on my "half half" identity. I talk about cooking and sewing, between "here" (Belgium) and "over there" (Japan). These thoughts about the double culture has boosted the idea of the "demi demi" project.
The fabrics I use are silk. They come from bolts for kimono, or unstitched kimono. They are vintage and date from post war years to end of Showa era (end years 80'). I select them in Japan and transform them in Belgium, in my small sewing room in Brussels.
You will also find in my shop, a selection of haori, vintage kimono jacket made in Japan, the new must have of your wardrobe, to wear in perfect simplicity.
Through my creations, I invite you to a journey into the heart of the Japanese traditions and the history of kimono. Own a small but beautiful piece of the Japanese culture for your pleasure. I hope to make you discover and love the spirit of Japan, its art of living, and its wonderful craftsmen.
