5 out of 5 starsThis is my second time ordering this item, and it was perfect both times! It is beautiful and exactly as pictured and described. The shop owner thought of everything, even sample corks to test with pens! Beautifully displayed, first class packaging.

I am an artist and wine-lover with a passion for creating beautiful art and decor from re-purposed materials.
Hi, I'm Erin and I am the creative mind behind Desert Coastal Studios. I grew up in beautiful San Diego, CA, but have lived most of my adult life near Phoenix, AZ, where I currently reside. I earned a BFA in Art from Arizona State University in 1999.
After graduating from college I took a break from my creative aspirations while I focused my time on my family. I have been married to my husband, Nate, for 20 years and together we have 3 amazing children.
After my youngest headed off to kindergarten I decided that it was "now or never" to pursue my passion in the creative arts. I have had the drive to become an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember, so I decided it was time to start my own creative business.
Now, you may be wondering how I settled on a business creating things from wine corks. To tell you the truth, this business just kind of evolved on its own. I have always had an interest in creating art from repurposed or "found" objects. There's just something special to me about taking a discarded item and creating something spectacular from it. I also became interested in wine during my 20s and began collecting wine corks several years later. Eventually, those two interests collided and Desert Coastal Studios was born.
If you hadn't already guessed, I named my business Desert Coastal Studios as an ode to the two places I call home, Phoenix (the desert) and San Diego (the coast). My business has exceeded many of my expectations and I am so thankful for the support of all of my clients, family and friends!
Please let me know if you have any questions about me, my shop, or if you would like to request a custom order. Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers!

Frequently asked questions
Can I send in my own corks to be used in an order?
Yes, I would love to add a special touch to your order by using your own corks! Please keep in mind the following:
• Excess corks will not be returned unless agreed upon prior to ordering
• Some corks may not be used due to the condition or size of the cork, etc.
• You will be responsible for shipment of your corks to me. I am not responsible for corks that have been lost or damaged in transit.
• All corks will be cut in half length-wise. This means that if you have a handwritten note on your cork that wraps around the cork, I will need to cut through it in order to use the cork.
Please leave me a note during checkout stating that you will be sending in corks. Once I receive your order I will send you the address to ship the corks to.
What kind of pen or marker should I use on my cork guestbook alternative?
I recommend a fine tip (not ultra-fine tip) permanent marker, such as Sharpie. The marker should be in a dark color to contrast against the light colored corks. I have used black, navy blue, and burgundy colored markers with success, but any dark color will do. It is best to offer a few markers in new condition for your guests to sign with as markers do tend to get dull fairly quickly.
Markers are not included in your order.
