DesertTalismans' Shop Announcement

:: Friday, July 31 :: Welcome! I am finally back to work on my stand-alone website and shop! I'm holding onto the new oolite pendant/handwoven necklace to list over there, and--even better--I have just completed two new fossil ivory pieces for the new shop! As you remember, Etsy prohibited it a while back and since then I've been searching for the best new venue for my fossil and mastodon ivory pieces.

I am seeing this new site as a more professional place to showcase my very best work, the core of the Desert Primitive aesthetic that has been evolving over the years. The shop here will continue to operate and I hope to have a link between the two. This shop will have more of the playful, mixed talisman and mixed media pieces. Of course, I'll announce it here as soon as it's live. Stay tuned...

Walk in Beauty,

Please note that I do not do commission work. I've received many inquiries about this recently, but have found that the creative energy doesn't flow for me in that way. See my shop policies for more information about this, and any other questions that you might have.

You can see my blog at, where I occasionally post photos and articles related to my work.

My talismans are all about connection to the land...the spirit within the desert. I believe we need these connections in our increasingly artificial lives, a link to the timeless, deeper reality of stone, light, heat and earth. There is a beauty and a healing power in the severity of the still and listen.

These Desert Primitive talismans are the children of my soul: primal and elemental, they evoke a timeless Dreamtime world centered in the American Desert Southwest. They feature unusual stones, materials or ethnographic talismans and are completely handcrafted. While I work I am in a meditative, quiet space, infusing each talisman with beneficial energies and my prayers and blessings for you...the unseen energy at the heart of each piece is the true center of my work. Each piece is sent to you beautifully packaged in a hand-decorated gift box or handmade Tarahumara Indian basket.

I do my best to photograph and describe each item carefully, and my shop policy section is as thorough as I can make it. Please read through these, and if you find that they don't answer your questions, contact me through Etsy. As one of my customers, I will stay in touch with you throughout our transaction until I am sure you have your talisman safely and are satisfied.

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you enjoy your look around!

Desert Blessings,
