DesertTalismans' Shop Announcement

:: Monday, July 6, 2015 :: I just listed the latest of my ancestral-style talismans, a large, elegant mother-of-pearl pendant with turquoise mosaic inlay. I was able to add two turquoise beads to the strand as well. This piece was made almost entirely with stone tools, in the same way and with the same materials that the ancestral people of the Southwest did over a thousand years ago. Many hours of labor go into pieces like this, but they have a deep soul and carry a connection through time to the old ones who danced here so long ago.

What's next...? I don't know, but those materials are still calling me. I will sit with them some more and listen to what they have to say, and then we'll see what happens!

Walk in Beauty,

Please note that I do not do commission work. I've received many inquiries about this recently, but have found that the creative energy doesn't flow for me in that way. See my shop policies for more information about this, and any other questions that you might have.

You can see my blog at, where I occasionally post photos and articles related to my work.

My talismans are all about connection to the land...the spirit within the desert. I believe we need these connections in our increasingly artificial lives, a link to the timeless, deeper reality of stone, light, heat and earth. There is a beauty and a healing power in the severity of the still and listen.

These Desert Primitive talismans are the children of my soul: primal and elemental, they evoke a timeless Dreamtime world centered in the American Desert Southwest. They feature unusual stones, materials or ethnographic talismans and are completely handcrafted. While I work I am in a meditative, quiet space, infusing each talisman with beneficial energies and my prayers and blessings for you...the unseen energy at the heart of each piece is the true center of my work. Each piece is sent to you beautifully packaged in a hand-decorated gift box or handmade Tarahumara Indian basket.

I do my best to photograph and describe each item carefully, and my shop policy section is as thorough as I can make it. Please read through these, and if you find that they don't answer your questions, contact me through Etsy. As one of my customers, I will stay in touch with you throughout our transaction until I am sure you have your talisman safely and are satisfied.

Thanks for stopping in, and I hope you enjoy your look around!

Desert Blessings,
