I'm so glad you are here!

Welcome to our shop! We are so glad you are here! Please feel free to send a convo if you have any questions. It is an absolute joy to share my with creativity you and help plan the perfect celebration. Our goal is to make your celebration planning a breeze and make you look like a natural party planner.

A little bit about me. I studied Interior Design at Oklahoma University. After working in corporate America for 10 years, I felt my creativity wasn’t being used to the fullest. It did pay the bills, but I was miserable. I have always had a passion for design and needed an outlet to showcase that. In 2009 I took a leap of faith and started design girl studio. The rest is history.

I am married to my best friend. I am the mom to a baby girl who is quickly becoming a toddler, 2 step-children (age 21 and 25) and 1 granddaughter. That’s right I’m a new mom and Grandma. Life is never dull around here! 

After living all over the United States I now call Kansas home. That big white barn you see behind most of our pictures is in the field across the street from my studio window. It’s close to 100 years old and was the main dairy barn for my husband’s family farm at one point in its life. We live in no-where land Kansas, right in the middle of farm fields.

Miss Jessica is the other half of our team. For the last four years she has worked tirelessly with me. A new KU graduate, with an eye for details! She works from home most days and in the studio 3-4 days a week. She is involved in just about every aspect of our products.

This year we are celebrating our 9th year of creating party decorations on Etsy and serving over 20,000 customers. We are so thankful so many customers have trusted us with their decoration needs!

I take great pride in my work and strive for excellence. If you feel I've misrepresented my work in any way and are unhappy with any part of your order, please let me know and I'll do my best to make it right.

Refunds will not be issued. Exchanges will not be accepted.
We accept PayPal or Etsy payments. Payment is due immediately. We do not accept cancellation request. See our shop announcement for more information.
Our standard shipments are sent via USPS First-Class Parcel Mail or Priority Mail. With both options you will receive an email from Etsy with a tracking number. It is your responsibility to check the status of this tracking number. If a package is returned for any reason the buyer is required to pay shipping for the package to be shipped again.

ATTN CANADIAN & INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS - International postage shown in each listing is an estimated shipping rate. Because shipping rates vary greatly from country to country we are only able to quote the shipping rates until we know what your final order is. Once your order has been placed if there is an additional shipping amount due we will contact you immediately. You will be required to pay the amount due within 24 hours of the notification or your order will be cancelled. If you would like to know the exact shipping amount before ordering please send us a convo stating what you would like to order and we will be more than happy to provide that information for you.

Custom charges are paid by the customer. Design Girl Studio is not responsible for paying these charges nor do we know what the VAT rates are or what you will be charged.

Please understand that for all orders, once the package has been shipped and a tracking number has been assigned we cannot be held responsible for the condition your package is received in or the package arriving to you in time for your party. We will do all we can to accommodate rush orders however you are taking a chance the package will not arrive in time. Please let us know if you would like to add insurance to your package as we do not issue refunds. Insurance will cover damage to your items as well as lost packages. If you would like to purchase shipping insurance please contact us for a price quote. Insurance must be paid for within 24 hours of placing your order. Insurance will cover a lost or damaged package. The customer is responsible for filing a claim with the USPS.

Expected delivery time from the US to international locations is typically 2-6 weeks. Tracking is not available once shipped.
Additional policies and FAQs
Inventory - Every item in our shop is made to order. We do not keep an inventory of anything. From time to time will do offer “ready to ship” items. These items are identified as ready to ship in the title of the product.

Proofs - Proofs/samples will be sent upon request, after payment has been received. We will provide up to 2 proofs at no charge. Additional proofs are charged at 2.00 per proof. Proofs are strictly for the purpose of looking for errors. Changes to wording, colors, design are not accepted once a design is done. If you would like a change made to your original order request you will need to pay a change fee of 4.00 before the change will be made. From time to time we accept custom designs. A custom design fee of 35.00 will be charged. A proof is simply to confirm we have the color and wording correct. Unless you have paid for a custom design fee we do not accept changes to any part of a standard design once we have completed your design. Once we receive your permission to move forward with your order we will confirm your ship date. Ship dates will be delayed while we are waiting for your response.

Designs- We accept custom designs as our schedule allows. There is a fee of 35.00 if we are able to accommodate you. For more information send us a convo. What is a custom design? If you don't see exactly what you are looking we will work with you to come up with a design that fits your idea. This option allows you to choose your colors, patterns and fonts.

Please understand that it does take us longer to respond to convo’s sent over the weekend as we are not in the office. We do make every effort to respond within 24 hours though.

Unless posted on the front page of our shop, we respond to every convo within 24 hours. If you have not heard back from us within 24 hours please send us another convo. Please do not send emails to our personal email address. We receive hundreds of emails and it is impossible to keep track of them.

International Customers
Custom charges are paid by the customer. Design Girl Studio is not responsible for paying these charges nor do we know what the VAT rates are or what you will be charged.

What information do you need to process my order?
Each listing will tell you what information is required to process your order. Please take the time to read this. When you are in the check out screen please type the needed information in the box called notes to seller. If no information or partial information is typed in the notes to seller box your order is subject to cancellation.

Cancellation Fee
We do not accept cancellation requests. We will cancel orders from time to time for reasons such as customer not reading our current ship date. If the customer has paid via Paypal a cancellation fee of .50 will be charged.

What if you have a problem with my order?
If we need more information from you or have any issues with your order we will send you a convo within 24 hours of receiving your order. We ask that you reply to our convo within 24 hours to avoid delays. We do have the option to cancel orders if we have not heard back from you within this time line.

There is only 1 item available and I need more. Is that possible?
We can make as many sets of anything you would like. Please send us a convo with the quantity you would like and we will set up a custom listing for you.

Can I combine two different templates? I like your preppy theme but I need it in an elephant theme. Can you do that?
Yes, we offer a semi-custom option. We can combine two different templates if we do not already offer what you are looking for. There is a template change fee charge to do this. The amount starts at 8.00 and is determined by your final order. Please contact us for additional details.

Is confetti printed on both sides?

How long is a banner that reads Happy Birthday with an age?
Aprox. 10.5 foot long form one end of tulle to the other. 8.5' long from the edge of the first circle to the edge of the last circle.

How do you determine what colors will be used and where for my order?
We use our discretion on where to use each of the colors you choose. While we make items using the colors you request we do not accept specific color directions. For example "I would like 8 red scalloped circles and 4 blue" or "I would like the word mom in pink and to be in gray." A custom design is a possibility. Our fee starts at 35.00. If you are interested in more information please send us a convo.

Why does my item not look exactly like the picture shown?
Each item is made to order. No two items are made to be identical.

Do you suggest using white as a cardstock color?
All of our printed circles are on white cardstock. Because of that using white backgrounds can cause all the colors to blend together to much. If you have requested white as a color we will use our discretion as to the best way to use it.

What is your current lead time?
Lead times can be found on the front page of our shop under our shop name.

When will my package arrive?
You can sign into your Etsy account and track the status of your shipping once the shipping label has been printed.

I received my package/PDF file and there is a misspelled word.
We are human and do make mistakes from time to time. We are able to copy and paste the majority of wording you type in the notes to seller box during checkout. If this information was typed incorrectly you will be responsible for additional charges. If a proof was sent before the package shipped you will be responsible for additional charges.

How many sayings and colors can I pick?
All confetti and cupcake picks come standard with up to three sayings and colors of your choice. Gift tags come standard with up to 3 colors and 1 saying. Additional sayings are available at an additional cost. Please contact us before ordering if you would like additional colors and sayings.

What colors of cardstock do you stock?
We stock numerous colors of cardstock. Our color chart can be found here.

What colors of ribbon do you stock?
Our ribbon inventory constantly changes. We do not accept specific ribbon requests because of this. We will always use a ribbon color from the color family you choose. While it may not be an exact match to the cardstock color it will coordinate nicely together.

What is the rush order fee?
The rush order fee is a flat fee paid when you would like your order shipped before our current lead times. The rush fee does not upgrade the standard shipping on the item. If you would like to upgrade your shipping on a rush order please let us know.

What is the priority shipping upgrade option during checkout?
All packages are sent standard via USPS First Class shipping. First Class packages typically arrive within 3-7 business days after shipping. Priority shipping is also with the USPS and it typically is delivered within 2-3 business days. Neither of these shipping options have a guaranteed delivery date. With the priority shipping option your order will still ship according to our current ship date.
