I began sewing as a 4 year old, begging scraps from my mother and sewing for my dolls. And so began a life long love of the creative process.

After leaving my career as a teacher in 2004 I finally had time to sew again. I casually asked my husband if he would like me to sew something for him - and from the first pair of pajama pants (which he still wears!) I went on to sew many one-of-a-kind dress shirts and bow ties for him as well.

When our son (the "goose") joined our family, his arrival inspired a season of sewing cloth diapers and knitting wool soakers. While working in the church nursery I was frustrated with everyone leaving their child with a forgettable black diaper bag (when the baby needed to be changed - which one was theirs?) - so I began to design and personalize diaper bags for the new moms in our circle of friends. And as the goose has grown his changing seasons of life have inspired by turns little purses for his friends, dress shirts and bow ties on a small scale, play clothes, costumes, superhero capes, pencil cases and treasure bags for his school mates, and many more.

After many years of hearing my husband say "you should sell your bow ties on Etsy" I finally decided to pursue that idea in mid-2012. Each of the items in my shop is something I first designed and created for a friend or family member. As I've "worked out the kinks," I am able little by little to share them in my shop. I'm slowly learning the ins and outs of operating a micro-business, while still enjoying the creative process.
