The seed of my love of jewelry was planted young...

I remember fondly as a child being given some boxes of unwanted items to go through by a relative. Amidst the junk I found treasures...glass test tubes full of embroidery yarn samples with cork tops, and bags of tangled costume jewelry. I sat on my bedroom floor meticulously untangling every necklace, every brooch, and every earring from the beautiful tangled mess. I took each bead, clasps and finding, separating them into the glass vials, further organizing them into colors, and gradients of the individual colors from light to dark. The beauty I found in each component, the delicate glass vials spread across the floor, and the excitement from the ideas being sparked from the rainbow of beads stays very vivid in my memory.

Today, my Jewelry inspiration is sparked everywhere, by everything I see, by everything I touch, but very often it is heightened in nature. I love wandering around in nature looking. Looking for flowers and leaves to bring home and press in my many flower presses. Looking for pieces of driftwood for pendants. Looking for beautiful textures and images to photograph. Looking for food to forage and create lovely meals.

I am a born and raised Vermonter. I thought the city was what I wanted, and in 1998 at the age of 17, I arrived in NYC. I attended Pratt Institute of Art, graduating in 2002 with a degree in Industrial Design. They say “you can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.” This is me through and through. I am a small town girl from Vermont. This is where I create my jewelry, in my little studio, overlooking the lake, in my peaceful place I call home.
