Since 2019 I have been designing and making lamps to order - 3D printed in my home studio, using well-considered renewable and recycled materials from Europe. My name is Bastiaan Luijk, digital artisan and founder of Studio BL.

My work is based on patterns and shapes with natural or harmonious properties such as Fibonacci sequences, golden ratio and symmetry. I combine the beauty of these shapes with the mathematical precision and freeform possibilities of algorithmic design and production techniques such as laser cutting and 3D printing. I base design solutions on design research, intuition and professional experience as an architect, designer and engineer. My work is functional, decorative, sculptural or a combination.
