Circles of Stone is the section of my shop where I sell pottery online.
I have worked with clay for a few decades. Though I have a BA in Art Education and an interest in many art mediums, clay has been the most powerful teacher for me. Integrating design and function is fundamental to my process.

I create mostly with circular forms (on the wheel), yet I also enjoy adding shapes and designs by hand. Even though many of the same kind of pots are similar, each one is unique.

The bulk of the pots that I make are stoneware, mid-range fired clay and my glazes are food, dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. The glazes are fairly consistent, but may vary some in color from one firing to another. Each piece is made and glazed individually by hand, so there may be differences from one piece to another.

Pictures and Prose is the section of my shop for handmade cards. Even though I have been taking photographs for over 30 years, I am still inspired by the simplicity of Nature and looking at something in a new or different way.

Putting words (quotation) to a photograph (or a photo to words) helps to take my process of taking pictures to a new level. I live in Maine surrounded by Nature’s beauty at its finest.
