After an apprenticeship in a professional art studio, I began my career as a full time artist 16 years ago. I currently live and enjoy working in my studio in beautiful Edmonds, Washington, USA. My main focus is on figurative/portraiture, and my painting style floats back and forth between realistic and a more painterly approach. The representational pieces typically have a minimalist tone, compositions that combine distinct figures with abstracted elements. The painterly pieces are more suggestive, containing figures and/or shapes that capture the essence of a subject, rather than clear details. Some works are a combination of the two styles.
