As the daughter of a fashion designer, who grew up in New York City's fashion industry, it is inevitable that I would grow up to become a designer, pattern-maker and seamstress - it's in the blood! I have been cutting fabric, creating designs and sewing for as long as I can remember. As a child, I would pick up scraps off of my mother's sample room floor and cut and piece them together to make clothing for my dolls. My life is truly defined by design and creativity.

After graduating high school, I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology as a design student and graduated in the mid 1990's. I then had my first child and started my first on-line business via Ebay. In addition to marketing my clothing on-line, my family and I would sell my clothing at various concerts and festivals. I eventually transitioned to selling on Etsy and DeviDesigns was born!

My clothing and accessory designs encompass upcycled articles of clothing and repurposed fabrics, trims, buttons, etc. I often times incorporate low immersion dying techniques into my work, as well as appliques, embroidery and hand-painting. These days, I very rarely start the design process with an end result in mind. I simply lay out all of my materials and see where the creative process takes me. It's always exciting, yet it's also served as a form of deep meditation.

All of my pieces are One-of-a-Kind. Not only do they convey one's sense of individuality, but they are Eco Friendly too. I am so thankful that I have a receptive and supportive audience for my work.
