Devil May Wear is een in Vancouver gevestigd kleding- en accessoirebedrijf. Met drie fysieke locaties, online bestellingen en groothandel naar andere boetieks over de hele wereld proberen we onze filosofie te delen dat ethische kleding ook gewoon leuker is! Est. 2003 door Stephanie Ostler, we streven ernaar om luxe items te maken die geen mode, pasvorm of ethiek opofferen om u een prachtig product te brengen waar u lang van kunt houden.

Lokaal gemaakt is onze eerste prioriteit en dus knippen en naaien we de meeste van onze producten in onze Main Street-studio in de buurt van Science World in het centrum van Vancouver. De rest wordt gemaakt door onze eerstelijnsmedewerkers in een van onze 2 winkels in The Net Loft in Granville Island (Vancouver) en op East 21st. Ave vlak bij Main Street. (Vancouver). Onze stoffen komen momenteel van over de hele wereld, maar we kiezen altijd zo lokaal mogelijk waar mogelijk. Helaas is het niet altijd een optie, dus we zullen het volgen met wat het beste is voor uw lichaam en uw levensstijl, waar het ook vandaan komt. We geloven ook dat door al onze productie te beheersen, we de beste kwaliteit kunnen garanderen die we kunnen en goede lokale banen die bijdragen aan onze lokale economie. Merk op dat we met de hand worden gemaakt en dat discrepanties tussen producten te wijten zijn aan kleine oplages en hands-on technieken. We zien kleine discrepanties sowieso niet als gebreken, maar ze maken deel uit van wat elk item volledig uniek maakt.

Op de tweede plaats komt duurzaamheid. Devil May Wear gelooft dat als je koopt waar je in de eerste plaats van houdt, winkel voor kwaliteit en winkel voor schoonheid en je zorgt voor je items die je duurzaam koopt, maar we kunnen niet ontkennen dat de meeste moderne ecovezels gewoon overal beter zijn! We vinden dat vezelmengsels beter werken in combinaties die het kledingstuk de eigenschappen van de vezels lenen, dus onze dominante vezel is een bamboetrui gemaakt van 64% rayon van bamboe, 28% katoen en 8% spandex. We gebruiken ook katoen, linnen, hennep, alpaca, merino, zijde, ramee, tencil, viscose van bamboe, organische stoffen, deadstock en af en toe uitzonderlijke kunststoffen zoals acryl. Hoewel zeldzaam, nemen we deze op als ze speciaal zijn. Let op: onze elastieken en veters zijn synthetisch. Het is een kwestie van noodzaak dat ze synthetisch zijn, maar we kijken uit naar aankomende textielmethoden die misschien natuurlijke elastieken een optie maken.


Ons maatbereik richt zich op een 6-16, hoewel we ons vaak buiten dat bereik wagen. Het is belangrijk dat een bedrijf zijn bereik in maten kiest. Het normale maatbereik voor een bedrijf is maximaal 6 maten, anders komt het ontwerp in het gedrang. Ons assortiment is iets breder dan dat, maar we proberen onze artikelen beschikbaar te maken voor een zo breed mogelijk assortiment, dus het is belangrijk dat we ons op dit gebied blijven concentreren. We bieden ook gratis kleine aanpassingen aan kledingstukken omdat we allemaal uniek zijn en dat is wat ons mooi maakt en we verdienen het allemaal om kleding te hebben die past bij onze natuurlijke rondingen. We doen alleen wijzigingen voor persoonlijk winkelen omdat het belangrijk voor ons is dat we het goed doen. We kunnen ook geen doorlooptijden garanderen. Hoewel een wijziging meestal een week duurt, hangt het echt af van de wijziging. Als we beschikbaar zijn en het is eenvoudig, kunnen we het sneller doen en sommige wijzigingen vereisen speciaal gereedschap, benodigdheden of speciale aandacht. Het is belangrijk voor ons dat veranderingen niet worden overhaast.

Locally made is our number one priority and so we cut and sew most of our products in our Main Street studio near Science World in downtown Vancouver. The rest is made by our front line staff in one of our 2 shops located in The Net Loft in Granville Island (Vancouver) and on East 21st. Ave just off of Main Street. (Vancouver). Our fabrics currently come from around the world but we always choose as local as possible when possible. Unfortunately it is not always an option so we will follow it with what is the best for your body and your lifestyle where ever it is from. We also believe that by controlling all of our production we can insure the best quality we are capable of and good local jobs that contribute to our local economy. Note we are hand made and discrepancies between products is due to small runs and hands on techniques. We do not view small discrepancies as flaws in anyway, rather they are part of what makes each item entirely unique.

In close second is sustainability. Devil May Wear believes that if you buy what you love in the first place, shop for quality and shop for beauty and you take care of your items you are shopping sustainably, but we can’t deny, most of the modern eco fibers are just all around better! We find that fiber blends work better in combinations lending the garment the properties of the fibers blended in so our dominant fiber is a bamboo jersey made from 64% rayon from bamboo, 28% cotton and 8% spandex. We also use cotton, linen, hemp, alpaca, merino, silk, ramie, tencil, viscose from bamboo, organics, deadstock and every once in a while exceptional synthetics such as acrylic. Though rare we do include these when they are special. Please note our elastics and laces are synthetic. It is a matter of necessity that they are synthetic but we look forward to upcoming textile methods perhaps making natural elastics an option.


Our size range focus on a 6-16 though we venture outside of that range often. It is important that a company pick it’s range in sizes. The regular size range for a company is up to 6 sizes otherwise the design is compromised. Our range is a little wider than that but we try to make our items available to the broadest range possible so it is important we continue to focus in this area. We also offer free minor alterations on garments because we are all unique and that is what makes us beautiful and we all deserve to have clothing that fits our natural curves. We only do alterations for in person shopping because it is important to us we get it right. We also can’t guarantee turnaround times. Though an alteration usually takes a week it really depends on the alteration. If we are available and it is simple we might do it faster and some alterations require special tools, supplies or special attention. It is important to us alterations are not rushed.
