About

After starting DevoTees back in 2006, I quickly became addicted to making things for my Etsy store and cruising the Etsy universe (by day I make illustrations for advertising, editorial and publishing clients - see link to my website, below).

All of the T-shirts I make are purchased secondhand. I'm fortunate to have access to the greatest thrift store of all time here in Chicago. I select only shirts that I would wear; shirts with a cool style, nice texture, and I'm a sucker for cool looking indie labels.

My shop name stems from my last name, DeVoogd (Dutch). My shop logo is a nod to my favorite childhood T-shirt, a pumpkin-colored T-shirt with a giant red strawberry on the front.
