What a wonderful Etsy shop and a terrific owner! Pam was so helpful to me. I love our "new" farmhouse bowl, with it's vintage beauty, imperfections and hardiness. It's a great display piece and will look fabulous on our coffee table or dining table. It was packed very securely and arrived so quickly. What a joyful purchase. I'm thrilled I found this shop! Thank you so much!

About

I hope that some corner of the world is a little bit brighter because I created something fun and funktional.

I have always loved creating things and there is a special kind of joy that comes from taking what someone else has cast aside as useless and creating a thing that is both attractive to look at and "funktional". I seldom do "repeats" of a creation so if you see something you love...it's first come... ;)
Being thrifty has been a necessary way of life that fueled my creativity. My parents were born near the end of the Great Depression and I was raised with a "waste not, want not" mentality that I hope I also instilled in my children. When so much of the world lives in poverty it seems shameful that we live in such a "disposable society". I try to do a small part to lessen the waste.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I live with the love of my life~my "dewdrop"~who encourages me and believes in me even when he has that skeptical look in his eyes. We were high school sweethearts and though it's not always been perfect...it has never been dull. We recently celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary.
We have a very talented daughter who lives near Nashville, TN with her husband. Please check out her Etsy shop where her beautiful handmade cards, banners, party supplies, scrapbooks and paperbag albums can be found: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheMidgetCricket
We also have a son who served 6 years as a US Navy Submariner, came home briefly, then headed back to New England to live in the land of snow and ice where he met and married the love of his life. They are currently remodeling their new home.
I work in a smoke-free home where green plants can be found in abundance. I love nurturing and growing things. Outdoors we have year-round veggie and herb gardens and (currently) some rather over-grown flower gardens. We are currently pet-less after losing Buck, our 12 year old mixed Lab in July.
Payment
I use PayPal and Etsy Direct Check-out and I expect immediate payment, unless you notify me otherwise. I can work with your payday schedule...just ask! (I understand about budgets.) I will put a temporary RESERVE or HOLD on items that you can't purchase right away. I may also offer payment plans, such as layaway on higher priced items. Just Ask. I can sometimes offer discounts on multiple purchases. Just ask! Any questions...that's right...just ask! ;~)
I gladly discuss Custom Orders for you. Custom Orders require 50% of listing price due up front with balance + shipping due upon completion. Lead times vary, depending on order but may be 3-5 days for simple updates or embellishments or up to 21-30 days for large orders or painting and curing times.
Shipping
I use USPS for most packages and will provide Delivery Confirmation #, but insurance is only included on Priority Shipping by USPS. Please convo before purchase if you want to pay for Priority Shipping. (Sometimes the cost is the same as for Regular Shipping on smaller packages.)
I prefer shipping via UPS ground on all larger packages (normally 18" and up). Their service has been quick in my experience and they offer free tracking and insurance up to $100 with every ground shipment. They do not ship to PO boxes.
All prices quoted are for Continental US only and Additional charges may be necessary for shipping to Alaska and Hawaii. Please convo for more information.
My shipping estimates are based on USPS shipping costs to New England and the West Coast (Highest costs from my location). If I have overcharged your shipping and packaging costs by more than $2, I will issue a refund after shipment. If I have undercharged you--I take care of the difference.
Please always verify your shipping info @ payment. I normally ship within 48 - 72 hours of payment. When possible, I ship within 24 hours with the exception of weekends and holidays.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do not take returns. All larger UPS shipments are covered up to $100, if they are damaged during transit. If you have not purchased insurance (USPS) for your package and it is damaged during shipment, I will not be able to issue a refund. I can not be held responsible for damages incurred during transit. Please contact me immediately if there is a problem with your package.
Your design will be exactly as pictured and as described...there should be no surprises when it arrives. Please check all dimensions given before ordering to make certain that you are clear about sizes.
You can be certain that your shipment is packaged with the utmost care, wired in place (floral wreaths) and bubble-wrapped in a brand-new box (Wreaths are always shipped in a new box...other items may be shipped in clean, recycled boxes.)
Additional policies and FAQs
Vintage items are just that--VINTAGE. This means they have seen some sort of use and possibly abuse over a period of time. I try to convey as clearly as possible through words and photos the exact condition of the item when it leaves my care on its way to you. If you have any questions--please ask before purchase.
This is a smoke-free environment and I do not purchase vintage items that have acquired any hint of smoke odor in them. (I am quite allergic to cigarette smoke.) If you are purchasing vintage items from me, be advised that I will not take returns on vintage items that do not look like brand new items, unless you are willing to pay for shipping both ways. You need to examine the photos and read the description carefully before making a purchase. Please check all dimensions given before ordering to make certain that you are clear about sizes. I will not intentionally misrepresent an item's condition. Thank you! :~) Pam
