Simple and gorgeous, perfect for all occasions.
A little about me. I'm married, have two dogs and love gardening as well as going camping and enjoying nature.
So how did I get into jewelry?
One evening as I was watching t.v. and snacking mindlessly, I realized I needed to stop being a couch potato and do something more fulfilling with my life and possibly lose some weight in the process. I needed a hobby.
I decided jewelry would be fun and I could make some cute beaded necklaces to wear since my favorite one had just broke and I didn't like all the cheap stuff in the stores.
I really had no idea what was about to happen. There I was standing in the craft store mesmerized by all the pretty beads and do-hickies and what-nots (technically called findings). And, oh, the stones. The beautiful gemstones. I bought a bunch of random things along with a couple of tools even though I had no idea what i was doing. It all spiraled out of control from there. Books, more tools, online videos, bead strands....it was endless and I soon realized I was totally obsessed. Luckily my full time job supported my habit and I felt like I was some sort of addict, hiding bags of beads from my husband because i didn't want him to think I had gone off the deep end.
Eventually, I actually made some pieces that were pretty nice and didn't fall apart when I wore them. Then my husband mentioned trying to sell them on ebay. Great idea! I'll make some side money and work part time at the garden center and my life will be awesome.
That was a terrible idea. Well not exactly because it did introduce me to selling online and the basic ins and outs of it all. But there had to be a better place to sell my wares.
That is when I found Etsy and I've been here ever since. I love making jewelry. I like learning new techniques and coming up with new designs so my jewelry is always evolving. My husband has been a great supporter and is always willing to help me out when he can.
This is now my full time job along with my supply shop where I sell handmade jewelry findings.
