Showing public transit architecture in a different light.
The art work that I make revolves around public transit architecture - it started because I noticed people weren't exploring these locations. Its not a fault considering the function of them is to get people in and out and not to be explored however after years of taking public transit I noticed something beautiful about them. These locations will often have beautiful geometric shapes due to there architectural nature but will also produce beautiful shapes from lights and just natural wear and tear.
Public transit or commuting tends to have a somewhat negative experience but I think if the focus because more mindful of the architecture and geometric shapes or other architectural elements then you'll hopefully have a better experience. My hope is that my work provides a more beautiful view of places that tend to be stressful and chaotic.

Diogo Pinheiro was born in Lisbon, Portugal and currently lives in Brampton, ON. He graduated from OCAD University in 2015 and received a BFA in Drawing and Painting. His work consists of urbanscapes that are geometrically simplified.
