Designed Naturally

I once decided to go buy a macrame jewelry kit for my two nieces. It looked so fun and interesting that I began reading about and learning different knotting patterns with hemp twine. I loved the natural look of hemp and started to explore new ways of making macrame jewelry with other natural materials and fibers.
I soon found myself making jewelry for myself, friends, and relatives. After I made so many pieces I asked why not share these natural ideas and designs with other people? I eventually started selling at local craft fairs and events and opened up a shop on Etsy. And that is how Designed Naturally began. Jewelry that is hand made, natural, and earth friendly

I use sea glass, gem stones, african recycled glass, acai seed, tagua nut, coconut shell and other nut beads in my work.

I love going to the beach with my family and love serching for sea glass when I do get the chance to go. It is such a relaxing experience! The sea glass I make jewelry with is either from my own collection (which is smaller than before eversince I have not been able to visit or find sea glass on beaches) or from friends and family who have shared their collection with me from their local beaches. I also use genuine sea glass that I have sourced from other beach combers in order to have a variety of sea glass from different parts of the world.

All the sea glass I use are found on the beach, and unaltered (except for drilling holes in some of them), they are not machine tumbled in anyway. I make sure to give the location of where each sea glass piece was found.

I recently started knitting with natural fiber yarns and love it. I spend my extra time knitting during the fall and winter and it is such a relaxing experience. Having knit so many cowls and hats I decided to sell them on Etsy. All of my yarn are from wool, silk, alpaca, and cotton.
