ABOUT ME: I am a disabled veteran, and the wood working is my hobby. My art work is featured in several local galleries, and I have galleries waiting to get my work.

ABOUT THE FRETWORK: Fretwork takes a lot of time and concentration. Each inside cut has to have a pilot hole drilled, and the saw blade fed through it to make the cut, then the blade is removed. Some times with the intricate cutting, you can get to the final few cuts and the wood breaks, ruining the whole piece.

ABOUT THE INTARSIA: Intarsia is a dimensional wood working technique. Each piece of the work is cut out individually from wood that has been selected for the color and grain. This is not like a puzzle that is cut from one piece. It takes skill to cut the pieces precisely so they fit together into the whole. Each piece, once it is cut, is then shaped with a sander, to add dimension to the piece. Stain is added to achieve certain colors, especially the white, then the piece is assembled and glued, then glued onto a backer for support. I have come to love the process that goes into creating these!

Your purchase of my woodwork keeps me in wood and scroll saw blades!

About

Not the Rocking Chair Type of Guy!

When I retired from the Navy on disability, I wasn't sure what to do with myself. I tried sitting and watching tv, but that was boring.

Next, I started helping my wife by telling her what she had missed while cleaning the house. In a hurry, she told me to find a hobby before micromanaging the housework shortened my life span! So I took up woodworking. I find the woodworking fascinating and relaxing. I could spend all day lost in a project.

Carrying my work to craft shows was exhausting, and hard on the pieces. My wife found Etsy first, and encouraged me to open a shop with my items. I make the wood art, and she does the photography and listings for me.

I am a self-taught woodworker. I took up the hobby shortly after I retired from the Navy on disability. I just wasn't cut out for sitting in a rocking chair!

Additional policies and FAQs
I'm sorry, but at this time I do not do consignment with stores. My artwork is available for sale for resale, but I do not mass produce items.

Alchemy Requests: For special requests, such as puzzles with your dog's name, I charge a $10 pattern fee in addition to the cost of the item. A custom pattern has to be drawn up for each one. I do require payment up front on these items, and do it by making you a reserved listing, that way you have record of the transaction. Please allow a week for creation of your custom item.
