dogWoodbyDave is taking a short break.

I am deploying with Christ In Action to do disaster relief for the flood victims in Texas. All orders currently pending will be completed, but I am unable to take new orders for a bit!

You can help out by donating to Christ In Action at this link: http://www.christinaction.com/Content/Home.aspx 100% of your donations go to helping people in a disaster area, ministry leaders raise their own support as missionaries while others like myself volunteer time & talent.

You can follow Christ In Action on Facebook to see what we are doing in Texas. The need is great, and there are still many families who have gotten no assistance yet!

Thanks for understanding,
Dave.

Welcome to my woodworking site! Feel free to browse around. If there is something you want that you don't see, please ask!

ABOUT ME: I am a disabled veteran, and the wood working is my hobby. My art work is featured in several local galleries, and I have galleries waiting to get my work.

ABOUT THE FRETWORK: Fretwork takes a lot of time and concentration. Each inside cut has to have a pilot hole drilled, and the saw blade fed through it to make the cut, then the blade is removed. Some times with the intricate cutting, you can get to the final few cuts and the wood breaks, ruining the whole piece.

ABOUT THE INTARSIA: Intarsia is a dimensional wood working technique. Each piece of the work is cut out individually from wood that has been selected for the color and grain. This is not like a puzzle that is cut from one piece. It takes skill to cut the pieces precisely so they fit together into the whole. Each piece, once it is cut, is then shaped with a sander, to add dimension to the piece. Stain is added to achieve certain colors, especially the white, then the piece is assembled and glued, then glued onto a backer for support. I have come to love the process that goes into creating these!

Your purchase of my woodwork keeps me in wood and scroll saw blades!
