Chewing Up The Scenery

When I first found etsy I was amazed and really happy to have found a place with handmade quality goods all under one roof, so to speak. I visited often and made some great purchases.

Then I lost my job. I knew it was coming- because of what was happening at the company I worked for, so I opened my first shop on etsy. I knew I needed to get started before the axe fell, so to speak.

This is not my first or only shop on etsy. As an artist, I found myself flailing about, trying to figure out what I could do that would help support me both spiritually and financially. I closed 2 shops that weren't working.

I opened Dolly Dolly Fashions and started selling vintage dolls I had cleaned and restored. I made period clothes and sometimes shoes for them, as all too often they arrived naked and shoeless. My shop expanded a bit when I began making doll furniture and selling it.

One fall day I found myself buying a very strange doll at Target. A Monster High, Lagoona Classroom doll to be exact. There was something about her, and the others that intrigued me.
Once I had her home and had re-set her messy hair, It was clear she needed more clothes. So I made some for her.

What followed was me making even more Monster High doll clothes and I started offering them here. It appealed to me to be able to design, make my own patterns and then bring a fashion to life all with my own 2 hands.

So here I am, making things that other people like and want and having a wonderful time too! I have plans to expand what I am doing sometime next year. I will be making clothes for Blythe hopefully by next spring.
