About

Crochet Scarves For Dogs?

No, my scarves aren't for dogs to wear, but for people to wear their favorite dog all winter long. (Yes, I'm asked that a lot.)

My first dog scarf design was for my daughter for Christmas. It was of our own dog, a beagle rat terrier mix, named Wyatt. It looked like him including the weird white patch Wyatt has on the back of his neck. The problem was it was sooo hot my daughter couldn't stand to wear it! It also contained three color changes (not exactly easy) in the scarf's body as well as being crochet on a small hook.

My designs have evolved to a lighter (thank you size L crochet hook) and shorter (no longer can you wrap the scarf around your neck twice and still have the dog's legs even with your knees) as well as many other dog breeds.

Most all of my designs have been requested by my customers. I love a challenge! I take inspiration from photos of actual dogs. I break down their unique features into sections, then the sections into shapes and finally into crochet. All the faces are just a series of shapes layered and sewn to the head thus forming that breed's look.

On my schedule is a series of dog breed ornaments and coin purses as well as a couple of cat scarves.

Check by to see what's next or request a pattern. The person who suggests a pattern will get that pattern free!
