Quite by Accident...

I started creating things to sell quite unintentionally. I've always been "artistic" but never in my wildest dreams did it occur to me to try to make a living at it. My mother-in-law is an avid Junior League seller. She asked me to help her get product ready for shows and I discovered I enjoyed the thrill of creating something that people would actually pay money for! One thing led to another and I branched out on my own, creating my own line of products (in children's decor) but also expanding her line of personalized snowman ornaments.

After doing a few shows, friends encouraged me to try selling on eBay. What a ride that was! I was actually getting sales!! When Etsy came along, I was excited to try the new venue and jumped in with both feet! Eventually opening 4 shops: Doodle Pad Designs, Doodle Pad Imprinting, Doodle Pad Tees and Whimsy Papers.

It is such a joy and a blessing to be able to work from home, be my own boss, and get paid to create! Not to mention the flexibility of making my own schedule - with 3 kids, there's lots of homework to help with, car-pooling, and extra activities.

In my "spare time" (ha! yah right!) I enjoy tennis, movies and walking my dog Zoey - who you'll see pop up on my Instagram feed every now and then. :)

Thank you for checking out my little corner of Etsy! I want to make your shopping experience as easy and hassle-free as possible, so here are the answers to some of the questions you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you still need clarification on any of these issues.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
I trust that you will be completely happy with your purchase, but if you find that you are not, I will accept returns on UN-CUSTOMIZED or NON-PERSONALIZED items within 14 days. Items must be in their original condition and packaging.

ORNAMENTS: If there is an error in your personalization that is my fault, I will gladly and very apologetically replace it for you as soon as possible. If the error is due to faulty information given by you, you'll need to purchase a replacement if you want the error corrected. In the unlikely event that your ornament breaks during shipping, just send me proof in the form of a photo and I will gladly replace it (after cursing the post office under my breath).
Payment for your order is expected when you place your order. Production of your order will not begin until payment is received.
TURN AROUND TIMES: I will make every attempt to ship your items within the time frame specified in the listing, however, some custom orders may take longer. I will notify you if that is the case. If you need it rushed, please contact me in advance to see if that is possible.

ADDRESS CHANGES: Packages will be shipped to the address provided on your order. Be sure to double check your information after you place your order, especially if you have moved in the past few years. If an incorrect address is listed on your order, contact me IMMEDIATELY as some orders ship out the same day they are placed. Orders that have already been shipped with an incorrect address MAY be eligible for a package intercept by the buyer before delivery via (there is a fee associated with this service - currently around $15). If a package does not qualify for package intercept or the post office fails to redirect, the buyer is responsible for any charges associated with reproducing and/or reshipping the order.

LOST PACKAGES: If your order did not arrive but is confirmed delivered on the tracking, I will ask that you check with your local carrier to find out where the heck they left it. (yes, your carrier does make mistakes... does leave packages with neighbors... does return a package to the Post Office when they don't want to leave it on your porch in the rain, etc... so please check with them first). Refunds or exchanges will NOT be given for items confirmed delivered.



A. USA orders: Place order by Dec. 15th. I will accept orders after the 15th, but can't guarantee Christmas delivery after that point.
B. Canadian orders: Place order no later than November 28th so I can ship by Dec. 2nd. (please note - this is USPS guideline for deadline but actual shipping can sometimes take longer - so please SHOP EARLY Canada!)

2. BREAKAGE: Insurance is automatically included on all ornaments orders. In the unlikely event that your ornament breaks during shipping, just send me proof in the form of a photo and I will gladly replace it.

3. CANADA: I do ship to Canada (my home and native land). Please shop early as packages can take up to 6 weeks to arrive. (gasp!! I know!!) If you are ordering multiple ornaments, it would be better to contact me before placing your order so I can estimate your shipping for you. Etsy may overcharge you because of the way I have it set up. I do not rush ship to Canada. Please note that in the event that your package goes missing, I will, in most cases, offer to provide a replacement after 6 weeks - this is because often the issue is that the package gets stuck in customs and eventually will show up. No refunds will be given for missing packages.

Don't see it in my store? Contact me for information on a custom order! Custom orders are subject to a customizing fee and are not returnable. Every effort will be made on my part to ensure that you are satisfied with your designs before they are shipped.

Frequently asked questions
How are shipping charges calculated?

I have set up Etsy's calculated shipping on many of my items. I plug in the size and weight of each item and Etsy uses your shipping address to calculate how much it will cost to ship. It's not an exact science but if you get charged more than $2 over shipping charges (with ornaments, I have added insurance) I will refund you the difference.

Help!! I entered the wrong shipping address on my order!

If your order has yet to be shipped, I will be happy to change the mailing address for you. If I have already shipped your package, grab the tracking number from your order information (under My Account > Purchases) and file a package intercept with the post office. You can do that on the USPS website for a fee of around $15.
