Announcement    ♡ PROCESSING TIME AND DELIVERY TIME ♡
Please check processing time before you order :) more complex items can take longer (e.g. t-shirts, bags, bookmarks, mugs). Everything is made in house so please allow for that, I'm just one person. :) if you aren't sure about processing or shipping time, just give me a message and I can help you out!
Please be aware that even outside of the current pandemic situation, I can never guarantee delivery by a specific date because once your order leaves me I cannot control how fast it goes. Please check processing times and shipping estimates (COVID friendly shipping estimates can be found below) before you order and appreciate that if you're outside of the UK, your order may take a long while to arrive and there is unfortunately nothing I can do to change that, sorry! If you don't pay for a tracked upgrade, I cannot track your order.
Don't fear though - if you're concerned about your order for any reason, just send me a message and I'll let you know the shipping estimates etc. and let you know if you need to be worried or if you just need to be a bit more patient ;)
And I will always, always resolve any missing orders with a replacement or a refund. :)

COVID19
Please expect postage delays.
Estimated shipping times are currently longer, please refer to these shipping estimates rather than the ones in my policies:
UK: 1-2 weeks
Europe: 2-4 weeks
US: 4-6 weeks
Canada: Canada is complicated right now and Royal Mail are unable to estimate a delivery timeframe due to the impact of COVID-19. This is their statement: "We are processing the mail as normal in the UK, but delays are taking place once the mail reaches the Canadian border. As a result, we are unable to advise on likely delivery times." So please expect SEVERE delays, but don't expect me to make you wait more than 8 weeks before going through refund or replacement processes. :)
Oceania: 5-7 weeks
Rest of World: 6-8 weeks
I am still sending orders, but please be patient. I'm one person and I have to look after my family and my own mental health and shipping times are out of my control. If you wish to be able to track your order, you'll need to upgrade at checkout.

Wearable (and also non-wearable!) activism from Alyce (that's me!!) your friendly (angry!) neighbourhood feminist! Every single thing in this store is made with my own two hands - the only exception being my enamel pins, which I would make if I could but I don't have the means! :P Every single thing, including the enamel pins, is designed by me!
Your not-one-stop-shop (don't just shop here, please do support other small businesses fighting the good fight too) for wearable activism in the form of pins /badges, patches, clothing, accessories, jewellery and artwork! Get your feminist snowflake, liberal & political, social justice, LGBTQIA+ pride, mental health, chronic & invisible illness awareness and body positive on and bloody resist! ✊✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿

New stuff weekly for sure but usually daily! Make sure to pop back for new shiny things to look at and be LOUD with! If you favourite my store, you'll get notifications on your Etsy account for new stuff too.
I post orders every working day (Monday to Friday). I do not post at weekends. Weekends are for me, this is non-negotiable.
Please take into account processing time AND shipping time when you order because they're different (see below for details).

❤ PROCESSING TIMES ❤
♡ Always check processing times before ordering - you can see this at checkout (it will say "ready to ship in ________" under the postage cost) or on the right side of the listing page! Some processing times are different from others, so please check thoroughly, especially if you're in a rush. ♡
Please remember that except for my enamel pins , I make EVERYTHING myself, in house, to order. I do not keep stock. That means that every badge, every patch, every mug, every bracelet... they are all pressed by me, printed by me, designed and sublimated by me, stamped and hammered/brushed/polished by me with my own two hands! So please, be patient, I'm only one person. <3
Please also note that processing time is not the time in which you'll receive your order, it is the time it takes me to physically make your order (and numerous orders alongside yours!), then the shipping time is on top of that.
Your order is not sent tracked unless you pay for a tracked service. If you didn't, I'm afraid I cannot track your order once it has left me; however I'll do my best to fix any issues of damage, non-delivery, etc. as it's my duty to make sure your items reach you safely regardless of the reason it didn't! :)
If your order is high value (say you order a bunch of bracelets) please upgrade to a tracked option at checkout. This is peace of mind for both of us because of the higher insurance, as I'm not a huge fan of paying out of pocket for a tracked upgrade (but I'd rather do so and have your order fully insured!) so please consider this, I'm just one person and this is my living. Of course, though, I do understand if you cannot afford to upgrade the shipping - overseas shipping can be so so expensive. All I'm asking is that if you can afford it, please upgrade if your order is high value (e.g. more than £50/$60).

❤ CHARITY ❤
Profits or part profits from some items go to various charities each year: these include all my black lives matters pins and prints (profits to Black Lives Matter); my "anything you can do I can do bleeding" enamel pins (part profit to two variable charities [blood donation and period poverty prevention]); abroad for yes badges (profit to IFPA and ASN); my "f*ck cancer" pins (profits go to St Catherine's Hospice in memory of a friend); no! To pink capitalism pins (profit to LGBT Outside).

❤ SMALL BUSINESS ❤
Remember that most businesses you order from on Etsy are actually just individual people making everything happen themselves, with little to no help. Be kind, be patient, be understanding. <3 and please, send a message before leaving a bad review. We cannot know there's a problem unless you tell us, and leaving a bad review out of the blue is a uniquely cruel way to let us know.

I have some other stores that are currently open or about to open:
www.Etsy.com/shop/digibirb for digital assets, clipart, procreate brushes, fonts, etc.
www.Etsy.com/shop/beyondindigouk for handmade watercolour, gouache, acrylic and oil paints

About Doodlepeople

Sales 29,365
On Etsy since 2016

I want people who never feel seen to feel seen. Doodlepeople aims to provide representation and inclusion for those who rarely find it.

Hi, I'm Alyce (she/they)! I'm a queer artist and the creator and I am Doodlepeople (doodleperson?)

I'm a one person show and make everything in house myself. I pride myself on my unique designs and very high quality items! I always use the best materials, and since everything is made by me I can ensure strict quality control (but I am only human, of course, so sometimes mistakes happen!)

Drawing and creating is the only thing I've never stopped doing; because I picked up a pen when I was two and I haven't put it down for over twenty years.

When I started my business, I didn't really know what I was doing for about half a year. Then I bought my first badge machine. And based on the fact that I'm a huge raging feminist (the trans inclusive kind, no anti trans ignorami welcome here), it was a no brainer from there.

I've slowly built up my in house equipment from that first badge machine. Four years later, I now have ten badge machines plus my other equipment for making patches, t-shirts, backpacks, prints, etc.

I love making badges, patches, art and accessories with feminist, body positive, social justice, LGBTQIA+, mental health and chronic/invisible illness themes and I like to think that the wearable activism I produce does, or can, make at least a small difference in the world and that particularly the awareness badges I make help people in their daily lives: my unique range of chronic illness, mental health and disability pins (the "hello I am/hello I have" pins in particular) are something I really enjoy designing and in general, the badges/pin buttons will always be at the heart of Doodlepeople because they are where I started.

I make everything in my store myself. My badges are all designed by me and pressed by me in house with my own two hands in my own badge machines. My patches are all stitched on my own embroidery machine. The vinyl for my tees and backpacks are all cut in house, weeded by me and pressed on my own heat press by my hand. My bracelets are all stamped and textured by me, in house. All mugs are pressed by me. All backpacks and totes are pressed by me. The only things I don't make are my enamel pins! Other than that, EVERYTHING in this entire shop is made by me, by my own two hands, at DoodleHQ. <3

So remember: women are people too, black lives matter, boys can cry, all bodies are good bodies, you don't have to be anti-men to be pro-women, mental illness is real, every "me too" is too many, no human is illegal, trans rights are human rights, sex work is real work, not all disabilities are visible, war is wrong, there are more than two genders, love is love, there is no planet B, pro life is anti choice and anti choice is anti feminist, self care is not selfish, catcalls are not compliments, punks respect pronouns, bodily autonomy is non negotiable, healthy isn't one size fits all, vaccines don't cause autism; and we should support each other and lift each other up. So, do no harm - but take no sh*t. ❤
Oh, and, most importantly of all: you. are. enough.

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalised orders

I don't do custom orders in a sense of full personalisation anymore, unfortunately I don't have time. If you'd like to request a pin be added my design list, which I work through at my own pace, please go to this form: https://forms.gle/PAsZS6a9rEVNSuRB9

P.s. please don't message me asking for a badge that directly contravene one I already sell. No, I won't make a badge that says "vaccines do cause autism" or "hug TERFs". I put my beliefs on my badges, and I won't make nonsense.

Wholesale availability

Any pins, patches or prints can be ordered in bulk and I can provide a wholesale price upon request, just ping me a message! There is a minimum unit order for bulk discounts; the more you order the better deal you'll get, up to 60% off. In the case of pin buttons, charges for preparing artwork/text start at £2.50. For patches, this custom charge is from £5. Custom art/text prep charges depend on the complexity of the design and comes down to time spent on said prep. :)

My limited prints are, of course, limited. If there are 15 left then sure thing you can have 15 but there are no price breaks on these prints. The reason for that is usually because they're for a cause (e.g. a charity).

Patch care information

Your screen printed patch will be heat sealed so that it is wash safe. Though if you are going to wash it I highly recommend a gentle hand wash. If you must wash it in a machine then make sure it's a cold wash (30 degrees will be ideal). DO NOT TUMBLE DRY IT. I use screen printing ink and it is NOT tumble dry safe.

For embroidered patches, follow the patch application/care instructions closely. A gentle cold wash is best. :)

Don't worry though, I send out patch care instructions with every patch order.

What happens when I mark my order as a gift?

All the "mark as gift" option does is remove the price from the packing slip; and you can also include an optional gift message for free.

Marking your order as a gift ~does not~ mean your order is going to come gift wrapped. If you would like your order gift wrapped, please select the additional gift wrap option at check out and the cost will be added to your order.

Please be aware if you are outside the EU I have to declare the contents and value of your order on a CN22 customs label on the outside of the parcel. I have no choice but to do this (if I don't it may not get through), so be aware if you're sending directly the recipient they may read the CN22 and know what's inside (but it will not be specific, just like "pin button badge").

What service is used to ship my order?

I ship with Royal Mail, who hand over to your local delivery service. I ship every week day; I don't ship on the weekends.

UK: almost everything is sent second class, with some first class.
Outside UK: default is International Standard (Airmail).
Your order is NOT TRACKED as standard. Please do not message me asking for a tracking number if you did not pay for tracking.

You can upgrade to a tracked service at checkout BUT except in the case of UK next day, this doesn't make anything any quicker unfortunately. Processing time (the time before your order ships) does not change regardless of shipping service.

I'm sorry about high shipping prices on larger items but I have to cover costs.

Need it ASAP? PLEASE message me BEFORE you order.

Do you use plastic packaging?

Almost all of my packaging is plastic free and recycled and/or recyclable. I print my order forms on recycled eco paper and your order will be packaged in a paper candy bag within a card envelope. I may also use a bit of paper tape to seal the envelope.

Some orders have to be sent in mailer bags but they're biodegradable and my "cello" sleeves that prints and greeting cards come in are also biodegradable.

All my packaging is very, very minimal (I don't even use backing cards on my enamel pins) and is all recyclable or compostable. I'm not about pumping extra garbage into the earth when we're already on the verge of an environmental crisis, so please don't expect a lot of bells and whistles at the expense of our planet.

Is your packaging discreet?

Yes, don't worry. Your order will be sent in one of the following: a brown card backed envelope; a plain brown cardboard box; a plain white cardboard box; a brown cardboard tube; a grey biodegradable mailbag; a cream semi-transparent potato starch mailbag. In the case of that last one, they're for t-shirts and the tees are folded inwards so you can't actually see what it is. This is both to deter mail theft and also to keep the contents discreet - I know some of my items can seem... inflammatory and opinionated.
I have to fill out the customs form but it's always generic ("pin button badge", "t-shirt", "polyester backpack", "ceramic mug", "aluminium bracelet") etc.
If you need special discreet packaging INSIDE the package too, message me.

COVID-19 Information

My current shipping estimates are a lot longer due to the pandemic. Please expect significant delays:

UK: 1-2 weeks
Europe: 2-4 weeks
US: 4-6 weeks*
Canada: Canada is complicated right now and Royal Mail are unable to estimate a delivery timeframe due to the impact of COVID-19. I would expect to wait 6-8+ weeks.
Oceania: 5-7 weeks
Rest of World: 6-8 weeks

*Because of the impact of the lack of funding of USPS by the absolute walnut in the white house, we may start experiencing extended delays of mail to the USA. I am looking into alternatives that don't come with an outrageous price tag. Please bear with me.

P.s. Always check processing times, which is the time BEFORE your order ships.

What's the processing time?

The processing time is the time before your order ships.
I do not have stock (pre-made items).
I make everything in house (myself with my own two hands) and I make everything to order (I do not make anything unless it has actually been ordered).
This is why the processing times can sometimes seem long (e.g. 1-2 weeks for an embroidered patch - because I need to run my embroidery machine to make that patch).
Here's the main thing I'd like to say and I say this with all the love in the world because I appreciate you buying from me so much, but: you are not my only customer.
That is why my processing times are the length that they are. Because I have to get everyone's orders done, not just yours.
Plus I have a baby son, so bear with me please.
