About

Doozie Jewelry

Hi.

My name is Susan Murphy. I am the designer/maker of Doozie Jewelry.

Doozie Jewelry was started in 2009 after graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design with my B.F.A. in Metals and Jewelry.

I started out humbly in my garage. Over a handful of years, I have changed states and studios. I now reside in beautiful Denver, Colorado where my workshop is just a stone's throw from the back steps of my home.

Each Doozie piece is meticulously crafted by hand and originally designed using only the highest quality materials. Doozie Jewelry uses recycled metals, and ethically sourced, natural gemstones. Each finished piece is achieved using traditional metalsmithing techniques through the lens of my clean, minimalist eye.

Thanks for visiting!

Hello! Thank you for visiting my shop!

I took my first jewelry course at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006, and was hooked. I received my B.F.A in Metals and Jewelry there, and have been making jewelry ever since.

Each piece is handcrafted from scratch by me in my studio workshop. That means, every bezel, hammer mark, ring shank, jump ring, etc. was meticulously crafted by my own two hands.

Quality of materials and craftmanship is of utmost importance to me. I handpick my stones from trusted wholesalers for great cuts, unique shapes, and colors. I use recycled metals as often as possible. I do my best to describe exactly why each piece is unique and special, but if something you'd like to know isn't covered in the description, please feel free to ask!

FAQ's for ring sizing

If you are unsure of your ring size, I encourage you to get professionally sized by a jeweler. This is a free service provided by any local jewelry store, and will save a lot of time and hassle in the ordering process.

I also have an adjustable ring sizer you can use at home available for purchase here:

A couple things to keep in mind when getting sized:

1. Make sure you get the finger sized that you plan to wear the ring on.
2. Note if the ring you are ordering has a wide band or thin band. Let the jeweler know this information. Generally, wider bands will require you to go up a half to even a full size.
3. Please find your US ring size or equivalent.

You may also order a reusable ring sizer from me to determine your ring size. You can do so here:

If you have any other questions regarding fit and ring size, please contact me before you order.

Engagement ring purchases are eligible to be resized one initial time free of charge. Any subsequent resizing will be subject to a fee of $50 plus shipping.

< < Rush Orders > >

Items that are READY TO SHIP will got out within 1-3 days upon ordering. I send these pieces out with standard shipping. It may be possible to expedite shipping for a fee. Please contact me BEFORE you place your order if you'd like express shipping.

I may be able to accommodate rush requests for MADE TO ORDER pieces, but not always. Please contact me with your request BEFORE ordering. If it is possible, there may be fees associated with the rush order. Fees will depend on the piece requested and how quickly it's needed, and will therefore be determined on a case by case basis. Please be specific with your item request and the exact deadline you require.

< < Jewelry Care > >

Jewelry, like most things in life, require maintenance and care. To keep your Doozie looking as great as the day you got it, check out tips on these topics:

< Gemstones >

Natural gemstones should never come in contact with any abrasives, chemicals or cleaners. When cleaning metal surrounding a gemstone, always take the utmost care in avoiding contact with the stone. Dish soap and water are all you need to remove a little gunk. Swirl, rinse, pat dry.

If you ever have a question on how best to care for a piece of Doozie Jewelry, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm happy to answer any questions :)
