6 stars! These are so absolutely beautiful, just what I was looking for. I wasn't sure of the size of them from the pics but now I know they are the *perfect* size, chubby and stout. Dorothy is a treat, and they shipped lightning fast. Like I turned around from placing the order and they were at my door ;)

About

Potter, Beader, Quilter

I've known for as long as I can remember that I wanted to be an artist. For many years my first fascination was with the simple pencil and paper, although I was always happy to try any craft that came my way.

So, I kept drawing all through school and when it came time for college I chose Fine Arts as my major. Drawing was my main area of study and while doing large still life set ups drawn as realistically as possible, I discovered my main interest was the way light hit the folds of drapery fabric. I loved drawing the shadows and light and patterns from just a simple pieced of draped fabric, so my drawings became more abstract while still kind of hyper-realistic. I also loved drawing basket patterns and did a whole series of drawings and etchings based on different baskets that I found.

In the midst of this discovery I took my first ceramic classes and it was love at first touch. Good thing I started with hand building (which I still love) because throwing did not come easily or naturally. But I'm no quitter! I kept at it with some success here and there and took as many pottery classes as I could and continued with them even after graduation, a move to California and having my two little girls (not so little anymore!)

I think it wasn't until I got my own wheel and kiln and had to do everything myself that I really figured out what I was doing. Being able to work at my own pace and whenever I want (well, around the time constraints of kids!) made all the difference in certain skills.

My main focus now is making functional and beautiful everyday ceramic pieces that can be enjoyed and appreciated with food, as well as pieces made just for decorative use embellished with beads and fibers. I also have a coffee addiction so making a lot of cups seems like the perfect job for me!

Shipping
I ship all my regular items via USPS Priority or Parcel Post and my buttons and magnets via USPS First Class. Most of my larger ceramic items and orders will be shipped Parcel as the boxes are large and the cost for priority mail is prohibitive. However, sometimes on orders with several items, the combined shipping charges are sufficient to ship the order priority. Larger ceramic orders going to the West Coast will usually go parcel. Tracking and delivery confirmation is provided through USPS.

Because I have to list my shipping charges before I know where the item will be shipped to, I tend to charge as if they were going to the West Coast (I'm in Florida). If the actual shipping costs are considerably lower, then I will refund the difference back to you through your payment method. I do not make extra money off shipping charges. I have considerable expenses (boxes, packing peanuts, bubble wrap) that are associated with shipping pottery which are covered by the charged shipping costs within each listing. There are usually savings involved with combined shipping costs when you purchase more than one listing, and those are easily refunded after the order is packaged up, weighed, and the shipping label is processed.

If I receive an order early enough in the day I can sometimes send it out the same day. Generally, I will ship items the next business day. You will receive email confirmation of your shipment with a tracking code.

International customers are responsible for all fees associated with shipping to their respective countries. Orders that are shipped to countries outside of the United States may be subject to import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to such import taxes, customs duties and fees, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient; I have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond my original delivery estimates. All international orders will have full value declared on customs forms - no exceptions.
Refunds and Exchanges
If items are defective or damaged I will refund in full. If Items are broken in shipment I will refund or replace the order in full.

If a return needs to be made (buyer's remorse, or customer purchased wrong item or size) I will refund the cost of the items, minus shipping. Return shipping for wrong size orders are the responsibility of the buyer.
