Announcement   Etegami is a Japanese folk art that combines simple hand-painted images with thoughtful words on Japanese washi postcards. Most of the time I use the traditional sumi ink, gansai water-soluble paints, and writing brushes, but sometimes I use not-so-traditional materials and methods. Message me if you want to place a custom order.

I ordered this set of custom-painted coasters from Debbie and they are exquisite! She made sure I was happy with the designs before painting them, and communicated with me throughout the process. Perfect shipping, gorgeous product; they were a wedding gift and are the couple wants to display them rather than use them as coasters. 😃 (PS - this photo shows the nearly-completed coasters. Final product had lovely Japanese words on each one. Forgot to photograph the final product!)

These coasters are even lovelier in real life than at Etsy, I'm super-happy with them. They'll make a perfect Christmas gift!

About

I am an Etegami artist and translator based in Hokkaido, Japan, where I've lived since birth. Etegami is a Japanese folk art that combines painted images with thoughtful words on washi paper-- most often washi postcards. It has been an important part of my life for decades and I am passionate about it. I hope you get bitten by the etegami bug too.

To learn about the tradition of Etegami, please visit my blog at http://etegamibydosankodebbie.blogspot.com; To find my other online shops, blogs, my Twitter, Flickr, and Pinterest links, as well as newspaper and magazine articles about my work, just google "dosankodebbie."
