Im still practicing the tutorial so, I have not completed a full animal to say how good it is.However, so far instructions are very clear and Miss Smith is very friendly with tips and help outside the tutorial and this lovely for someone like me with sewing fears. This is the next best thing to a NIADA class:)

Beautifully fanciful creations by Connie. I fell in love with FROG FISH MOUS tutorial and ordered it. Connie was exceedingly helpful working out a small glitch regarding template sizing when printed and in no time solved the issue successfully. It has so far been a very positive experience. I await additional costuming templates and instructions in near future. This artist is a gem and sincerely interested in her customers!

About

My Anthropomorphic Impulse, Etsy-fied.

Sculpting and drawing as a pre-schooler and sewing as a pre-teen; I've been selling my figures for over 20 years, pre-Etsy. At the heart of my daily practice is an abiding sense of sustainability; a commitment to using only organic materials such as earthenware clays and beeswax. Likewise, vintage apparel and linens beyond restoration are the mainstay of my fabric stash. Most of my costumes give new life to the work-a-day clothes of the last century. Every component of a piece informs my process, and often a nuance of personality will arise out of the remnant itself; my subtler way of doting on the planet and on the palpably silent past of so many storied objects.

This year I celebrate the 20th anniversary of my induction as an artist member into the National Institute of American Doll Artists! I was the first artist member to do so on a completely anthropomorphic portfolio; later profiled in our beautiful 2009 publication, "Art Dolls: Rich Traditions, New Ideas." Now serving as our Second Vice-President, I am also thrilled to have been on the web-working team that redesigned our new website, and look forward to offering a new Master Class at our upcoming Annual Conference and Dollmaking School, slated to take place in Alexandria, VA July 18-24, 2016.

My Avatar: Virginia Wool: Borne in 1996 of simultaneous readings of Virginia Woolf and an obscure chapter in Lewis Carroll, in which Alice encounters a cloven-toed queen who offers her a rather useful question about making one's way in the world.

Payment
I accept PayPal and am now pleased to accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express) through Etsy Direct Checkout! An 8.85% sales tax charge will be added to all orders received from NY addresses in accordance with tax guidelines for my NYS county.

Sorry, but unless i know you personally, no personal checks or money orders.
Shipping
All items are carefully packed and my fully-insured shipping profiles are pre-calculated based upon USPS 1st Class or Priority Mail with online tracking and my experience so far has been excellent. If you prefer UPS or FedEx, please convo me with your zip or postal code prior to purchase for a shipping quote.

International orders ship via USPS with their required Customs Form (which doubles as a tracking number according to my local postmaster). --And please: do not ask me to contact you outside of Etsy for 'your private carrier' arrangements. It won't happen.

I now ship in-stock items on Tuesdays and Fridays, unless working against a special deadline that has been prearranged via convo, and turnaround time on custom items is individually based on project complexity, which will be agreed upon by us via convo before i begin.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will exchange for any item not to your satisfaction for any other item of equal value, except custom orders, which will be handled via email progress reports on commissions over $100. ALL SALES FINAL.
