5 out of 5 starsYvette was so helpful when the package went missing and together we managed to locate it. The table is perfect for my needs and the attached pic shows it after I applied a paper yew veneer to the top and some gold leaf and ornamentation to the base. It's a fine addition to my developing study room box. A pleasure to buy from this friendly and professional mother-daughter team!

5 out of 5 starsThis will be my third project from DFC. I was thrilled with the first one. The charts were so easy to follow and the design was very pretty. I am working on the second chart now. It is more challenging but I intend to win. This pattern is next on my list and I will review it after I complete it.

5 out of 5 starsHappy I didn’t have to print over 40 pages, like most carpet patterns. Never done a carpet in cross stitch before, but will try it soon.

My rug won first prize in the Colorful Amalgam Contest! Center medallion seen can be found in my Patricia rug pattern.
Hi, this is Yvette from Double the Fun Crafts. Our business is primarily for 1/12th scale patterns and items. I love designing patterns for petit point and find inspiration all around me. I begin with an idea and start designing. Most often I begin in the middle. Next, I start adding elements around the border until I get to the corners. Once the corners are done, and matching, I complete the rest of the rug and check colors to make sure they are compatible. It often takes me weeks to complete a design to my satisfaction.
When I stitch a rug, I use a strong magnification and stitch on 40 count silk gauze. Each rug usually takes me about 3-4 months to complete, therefore actual stitched rugs will only be offered periodically in the shop. Sometimes, I stitch on 48 or 60 count silk gauze and as you can imagine, these need a larger magnification to see it well.
My newest addition is a CNC/Laser machine which I am now using to make 1/12th scale dollhouse furniture. Cutting the furniture is only a small part of the process, which includes designing the item, sanding it and adding hinges if needed. Here is one of the Room screens I have made out of basswood. They can also be made out of quarter-sawn cherry. From start to finish, a screen takes me about 3 days to complete. I hope to design more items in the future.
Cheryl is the artist in the shop. She loves to paint and works in her home office. After doing many life-sized paintings, she began doing miniature scenes at my request. She works primarily using watercolors and water-based oils.

DoublethefunCrafts is launched!
Yvette and Cheryl are a very craft oriented Mother/Daughter team.
Yvette began at a very young age knitting sweaters for her Barbie dolls, then later for her children. She expanded into sewing, crocheting, cross stitch, woodworking and most recently, dollhouse building and Petitpoint.
Cheryl has always had a knack for art and could draw very realistic pictures when very young. She has also taken up knitting, crochet, sewing and petitpoint.
In 2018 Yvette began stitching her first dollhouse rug but wasn't content stitching someone else's design. She wanted to design and stitch her own creations. To this end, she purchased a stitch design program and began designing rugs and cushions for her dollhouses. She now has many designs and began talking with Cheryl about the possibility of selling her designs. Cheryl also wanted to begin selling her art.
They decided to join forces and the idea for Double the fun Crafts was born. They officially opened the shop on January 11, 2019.
