Our products increase the quality of life for someone with a disability. We invite you to join us!

Founded in 1989, Down Home Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working farm community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome and Autism. Located on 410 acres in Elgin, Texas, the Ranch provides residential, day program, camp and respite opportunities to teens and adults, 13+. Through our various programs, we provide empowering opportunities through independent life skills training, vocational opportunities, various Special Olympics sports, educational courses and much more.

The products you will find in our store are all created for the sole purpose of increasing the quality of life at Down Home Ranch. We invite you to take a look around and please do let us know what you think. As we are building our online presence, we would love ideas on what products you'd like to see added.

    Down Home Ranch (DHR) is a working ranch located just outside of Austin, Texas that fosters community, fuels social enterprise and inspires joy for people living with IDD.

  • Robert


    For many years, Robert spent his days making sure that our chickens were the happiest on earth. In 2018 however, Robert found a passion for sewing and has been sewing his way through projects ever since!

  • Crystal


    Crystal is a hard worker! For the DHR Etsy shop, she spends time producing the flour sack towels. When not working, Crystal enjoys hanging out with friends, dancing and Zumba.

  • Valerie


    Valerie's crafting began at a young age when she learned to crochet. Now, she enjoys working with a wide array of crafting materials, most recently finding her groove in sewing. Her favorite thing is sharing her creations with friends and family.

    Terry is a native Texan who found her love of sewing in 2018. The entire process makes her feel relaxed. If she is anxious or worried, Terry turns to sewing to make her feel better. Terry enjoys volunteering & joke telling in her spare time.

    Sonya's mom first shared the art of sewing with her when she was 14. Mending clothing and sewing blankets and pillows is where she got her start, but Sonya's sewing dreams include learning to sew scarves and other apparel and accessories.

    Julia is an artist with an eye for matching designs. She enjoys choosing the perfect fabric to create her next project. In fact, this is her favorite step of the process! With each sale, Julia can't wait to share the news with her family and friends.

  • Vicki


    Born and raised in the northwest, Texas became Vicki's home in 2018 after moving to DHR. When she isn't working with the horses or playing checkers, you might find Vicki sewing. Her favorite part about needlework is getting to see the final product!

  • Brian


    Brian's love for woodworking started at a summer camp when he was younger. As soon as he discovered the DHR woodshop, his love was ignited again. His most prized creation to date is a reindeer crafted out of a tree stump. Creating furniture is next!

  • Kelly


    A hollywood star at heart, Kelly enjoys crafting and creating art when she isn't busy being the star of the show. Painting and drawing are what she spends her artistic talents on most days, but is open to trying anything new!

  • Natalie


    Natalie was born in TN, proudly calling DHR home since 2008. When she isn't operating the engraving machine or writing novels, you can find her creating beautiful works of art. She loves incorporating butterflies and nature in her creations.
