Announcement   Thank you for visiting! Check in periodically to see what treasures we've found, refurbished, fixed up, and restored to their original (and often more beautiful!) character. We gravitate toward the funky, the retro, and the vintage.

We are constantly uncovering treasure troves of old fabrics, toys, china, collectibles, sewing supplies, and off-the-wall obscure tools and equipment.

We do prefer local Los Angeles pick-up for oversize items, but we can also ship. Shipping charges are the responsibility of the buyer, and for oversize items we will determine what those charges are, at the time of packing and weighing at a UPS store or freight company.

If you have an item that you'd like restored, refinished, or refurbished, email us with a photo. We'll see what we can do.

We accept PayPay (preferred), check, or money order. If you send a check, please allow us 5 business days to make sure it's cleared before we ship out your merchandise.

In the meantime...happy hunting!

About

Every piece has a story.

Laura and David live in a house filled with vintage finds, antiques and art. Every piece in the house has a story behind it, whether it was a samovar smuggled out of Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution, a German liquor cabinet found in a consignment store in Visalia, CA, or an enormous abstract oil painting purchased from a homeless man in Manhatten, painting in a studio underneath a cigar store.

"Out Of My Garage" started a few years ago when David and Laura unwittingly became the owners of a truck load of unique vintage items, many of them over 100 years old. They were stored in dozens and dozens of boxes in the garage. Slowly culling through these items, they were able to learn something about each piece, glimpse back into history, and share those pieces with other interested collectors.

During their travels, Laura and David search flea markets, estate sales...and they are still going through those boxes!

My passion for collecting and restoring family heirlooms has been at the heart of my furniture restoration business. A few years ago I inherited a truckload of old furniture, appliances, wooden doors, china, books, photo albums...and I found that every single piece has a story.

I now scour Southern California for beautiful old pieces, and when I find something with character, I take it home to my garage and get to work on it. I try to preserve the original lines of each piece, but it's important to me that each piece is user-friendly and looks new.
