What you do in the downtime is what matters.
Cleveland, Ohio-based illustrator Nick Matej began Downtime Co. in 2012 as a way to break up the mundane routine of his full-time job. It has since developed into a full-scale operation offering a variety of paper products, stationery, enamel pins, and home goods. Nick’s love for typography, booze, skulls, flowers, birds, mid-century modern, dark humor, and vintage illustration inspires all of the products you see here in one way or another.
Not only do we love making cool stuff, but we like to do it responsibly. We exclusively use 100% post-consumer recycled paper stock. Our screen-printed materials are made with water-based inks. Every candle we sell is made from hand-poured soy wax and scented using only all-natural oils and fragrances. Our wooden candle wicks are purchased from FSC-certified sources. We also only use manufacturers that think like us and follow environmentally-friendly practices. Every one of our products is packaged in-house by hand, under the watchful eyes of several beautiful cats.
