Happily Ever Artist
My story begins where so many stories end - with getting married. Being an illustrator, it made sense for me to design and illustrate our wedding invitations, to create something unique and personal that represented us (and, let's face it - to save money). We were so happy with how they turned out, but didn't think much more of it until my cousins, cousins-in-law and Facebook friends started requesting portraits for their weddings and families... and the requests kept coming.
So I set up shop and created a home on the web for this aspect of my growing business.
Meanwhile, I'd been stockpiling some of my personal drawings and paintings, just waiting to be shared. They too have found a home here, and I hope you enjoy them.
When I do a portrait, the first step is sketching (using the photo reference you provide). Everything is hand drawn with a pencil, then scanned into the computer and painted in Photoshop.
For certain projects I'll get out the acrylic paints. This process is slower and in many ways more limiting, but I love the immediacy of pigments and water, and nothing can compare to the presence and life of a physical painting.
As one of those people you might describe as 'quiet', drawing has been a means for me of conveying my hidden joy, humor, and passion for life. If I can make someone smile or brighten a room with a picture, I feel I've done something worthwhile, no matter how small.
I appreciate your interest in my work! Questions? I'm happy to hear from you! And, as always, let me know if I can make something special just for you.

Additional policies and FAQs
Here's how it works:
Let me know you're interested and I'll send you a quick survey that will help me understand what you're looking for and when you need it by. I'll also include some info about what kind of photos I need from you.
Once you've purchased your listing and I have your photos and details, I'll send you up to 5 sketches representing different directions for you to choose from..
Based on your feedback, I'll then prepare a refined drawing and rough color sketch of your chosen concept. This is the perfect time to request any changes you'd like!
Once the drawing and colors meet your expectations, I'll proceed with painting. At about 90% completion, I'll check in again to make sure everything is looking great and see if anything needs to be changed.
After all requests have been met, I'll put on the finishing touches and send you a link to your finished, print ready files.
**Please be aware that it takes me 1-2 weeks to complete an illustration. If your custom order includes a print, it could take an additional 2+ weeks for it to arrive. If you need it sooner, please check with me; I strive to fulfill all humanly possible requests.**
Questions? Feel free to send me a message. I'm happy to hear from you!
