Art Gone Green

Welcome to my shop, dremeWORKS! My name is Joey Kuhlow, my faith in Jesus is my is where I find my identity first and foremost. After that I identify as a husband to an amazing wife, a father to two precious boys, and finally a creative person who loves to make jewelry and art out of recycled materials. My creations consist of mostly spoon rings and guitar string rings but I also love to do artistic welding and occasionally glass etchings. If you would like to see what I have to offer with welded sculptures, and possibly request a custom piece, visit my facebook page, dremeworks.

The name of my shop stemmed from the fact that I use a Dremel rotary tool on nearly every piece of jewelry and art on which I work. Hence, dremeworks.

My motivation began when I saw highly detailed robots welded out of screws and bike chain at the Night Market in Thailand. Ever since 2005 I wanted to do the similar things but didn't have the time or resources until 2009 when I opened my shop here on Etsy. Since then I have changed from selling larger welded objects on here to selling mainly guitar string and silverware jewelry. I still do artistic welding though, and hope to reintroduce some items back to my etsy shop soon!

My goal is that with every item I sell that you, the customer, receive a quality product and quality customer service with your purchase. I create quality items to the best of my ability, but if there is ever any kind of issue, I aim to sort the issue out with professionalism and integrity backed by my personal faith in Jesus.

Thank you for taking the time to read and learn more about me! God Bless!

Owner, Maker, Create Welded Art And Jewelry From Recycled Metal

Thanks for checking out my shop! EVERY item you see on this page is made from metal that was being thrown away or no longer used. NOTHING is ever bought new to help make my creations, so I am limited to what is being tossed (which is still a lot!)

Hello all! Welcome to my shop! I do custom welding and jewelry making out of upcycled metal and guitar/piano strings found at scrap yards, dumpsters, or thrift shoppes. I like taking something useless from someone else and making into something awesome!! I'd love to do some custom work for you!

I prefer PayPal over everything else. It's fast and easy for everyone. I will accept a personal check if absolutely necessary, but I must receive the check and deposit it before I can ship out the item. No items will be shipped until full payment is received. Payment should be received within business days.
I ship through the USPS. I will ship the item within 1-5 business days of receiving payment. If you need an upgrade or insurance you can contact me prior to shipping and let me know; however, additional charges will added to the price.
Refunds and Exchanges

If the ring or bracelet does not fit properly you may ship it back to me at your expense to have it re-sized. I will ship it back to you at my expense.

If a soldered guitar string ring is not the right size for you, you may send it back at your own cost. However, if I receive the ring back and it in fact matches the size you ordered, getting a new ring will cost 50% of the price of the ring, because soldered guitar string rings cannot be re-sized. That means that I will have a ring at a certain size that I may not be able to sell if no one orders that size. If you decide you do not want the ring, you can be refunded shipping and 50% of the cost of the ring, as I have already put time and materials into it that I now may not be able to sell.

Sizing spoon rings can be tricky given the overlap of the ring on some of the sizes; not having a perfect circle for an inside diameter may cause you to want a different size ring even though it is actually sized correctly according to the ring sizing mandrel. All that said, for spoon rings, re-sizing the ring yourself is not difficult and is likely the best option considering you and I don't know exactly what size you need (with the inside overlap throwing things off and all). To make a coil or overlap spoon ring smaller, all you need is a block of wood and a rubber mallet. Stick your finger inside the ring, just to hold it vertical on the block of wood. Then take the rubber mallet and gently hammer the two ends together, periodically testing the size until you achieve the desired size. To make a spoon ring bigger, all you need is two pairs of pliers and something like electrical tape. Take the electrical tape and wrap it around the jaws of the pliers so you do not scratch the ring. Then firmly grab the ends of the ring with the pliers and pull them apart, again periodically checking the size until you achieve the desired size.

Other items:

If the item is damaged in shipping I will refund the item. The buyer is responsible for shipping the item back. I must be notified immediately if damage has occurred. I will allow for one week (7 days) after receiving the item to notify me of the damage that occurred during shipping. Any damage caused by an accident by the buyer does not qualify for refund. If it is broken by the buyer and he or she wants it fixed, I will fix it for free, as long as shipping one way is covered.
Additional policies and FAQs
I do custom orders. I will make pretty much anything. Most of my work is smaller though because the metal pieces I work with are smaller. I love to make your dreams come to life, let me know what you want done!
