About

They say you can never have too much jewelry...well, maybe you can.

Jewelry is in my blood, literally.

My great, great uncle was in the diamond business, and when he would visit my grandmother and great aunt, he would pull out his ring trays and let them pick something. When my parents became engaged, he mailed my father a packet of diamonds, a loupe and two pieces of diamond paper. He said "pick the one you want, wrap it separately from the others and send the stones back." My dad did that, and he set my mother's ring in a 4 prong Tiffany platinum setting.

Over the years I've inherited jewelry from my great aunt, both my grandmothers and my mom - some of it I've kept, some I've had reset - and some I'm just not going to wear. That's primarily what I have sold in my vintage section - nothing there right now - but you never know what might appear.

I started jewelry making with beading - especially earrings - but I've graduated to bigger and better things!

After raising 3 kids and 30 years in the public policy business, I'm taking metalsmithing classes and starting to create pieces that reflect my mantra - that every piece of jewelry tells a story. I've come to love my saw, and every pendant has a "story" - with their own little vignette - cut out of the back.

I'll be blogging about jewelry - what I'm selling and new things I learn. Join me at facetsofmyself.blogspot.com.

Thanks for looking.

When I became an empty nester, I started taking metalsmithing classes - and I loved it! Since then, I've continued my jewelry making education and consider myself an aspiring metalsmith. I can't keep it all, so some of it is for sale here.
