WHO I AM

My name is Danaye, and I am the owner of this fine establishment. young@art is my brainchild, my personal brand, and describes just who I am as a person: a child at heart. I love chocolate, the color pink, rainbows, sparkles, glitter, and macaroni & cheese. Cartoons are a favorite pastime. I love Disney. Cute, fuzzy animals are my weakness. Nothing beats a comfy pair of pajamas. I love naps. And, I still believe in magic.

WHAT I DO

So much bad exists in the world. We see it at every step, every turn. Art is a means of escape from the bad. I want people to look at my work then stop, savor the moment, and smile. Genuinely smile. This world needs more of those things that make us forget for a moment what makes us sad, or lonely, or lost.

WHERE I GET MY INSPIRATION

My art is a mashup of the innocence of childhood, of happy memories, of enchanting moments, and of the little things in life. I take inspiration from people, movies, books, and geeky things that I love.

WHEN I STARTED THIS JOURNEY

I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil in my chubby little hand. Everything I know, I have learned from books, from Disney or Anime, or from observing the world around me.

Once I graduated high school, I decided to make this a true profession, so I majored in Studio Art in college. My focus was in Graphic Design, but my true love has always been illustration.

HOW I CREATE
--------------------------------
Each piece is lovingly hand-crafted using a variety of media. However, my go-to supplies will always be
1) watercolor,
2) ink (esp. Copic marker),
3) colored pencil, and
4) acrylic paint.

I also enjoy digital painting via the Procreate app on my iPad Pro 🥰.
