About

The Thrill of the Hunt......

Since I don't really make anything, it's hard to write about my shop. It's mostly about me bringing back treasures that I think you'll like. Not a very visual story. I spend a lot of time sifting through jewelry hoping to find gems. The thrill of the hunt is what makes it fun.

My favorite jewelry has a story and comes with a fascinating history. I like to give a little information to help tell the story of each item in my shop whenever I can.

I go to estate sales and antique shows as often as possible. I'm always hoping to find new treasures. It doesn't always happen, but I'm looking for something unusual and of course, it needs to be in almost perfect condition for me to offer it in my shop. Oddly, many jewelry pieces are, even after 50-60 years. I'm drawn to items from the late 40's to 70's. I love the styles plus these pieces seem to be in the best overall condition. Much older and there's usually quite a bit of wear. I want to showcase jewelry that's wearable and compatible with today's fashions. I know vintage styles are being reproduced now, but I want to offer originals, the real deal.

When I'm on buying trips, I've run into collectibles other than jewelry that I've wished I could put in my shop. I decided to give it a try and have started offering some different items. I thought it might be too difficult to add a second shop, so I'm trying to make it work with just one. I've listed all non jewelry items under "Collectibles" in Sections on the left side of the page. I hope this works and won't be too confusing.

Most of all, I want everyone to just enjoy their shopping experience. Who knows, maybe you'll find a treasure.

Here's a little about me and my life. My husband and I live on a wooded acre in the foothills east of Seattle. I love the semi rural aspect of living here. It's close to Seattle but closer to nature. We have plenty of wildlife, even occasional bears and bobcats. I've been trying to create a woodland garden in the middle of the evergreen trees surrounding our home. I'd like it to remind me of hiking trails I've been on in the mountains. Often when hiking, all of a sudden a little natural garden appears. It's full of rocks and mosses and ferns.

That's what I'd like to create. I've been working on it for a couple years now, so my garden is beginning to take shape. Keeping it watered is major. It's surprising how dry it gets here in the summer. I know everyone thinks it rains constantly in the Northwest, but summers have been pretty dry of late. When I started, I didn't realize how much moisture the big trees take from the ground. It makes it more difficult to grow what I want under the canopy. I guess it takes time and effort to duplicate what Mother Nature seems to do effortlessly.

My Mom used to shop thrift stores when I was a teen and I scolded her for buying other's castoffs. It somehow offended my delicate sensiblities. Then I grew up. I love vintage and all it's history. I felt inspired to join Etsy to share what I love.
