Welcome to Duet Supplies. This shop is the sister to my other shop, Duet, where all of my jewelry creations can be found.

Here you will find a wide selection of handmade ear wires and other wire jewelry components. I do not use a jig in the creation of my ear wires--every one is hand formed with only my fingers, ring mandrel, and pliers. This ensures that each piece has passed under my watchful eye, that my hands have really felt what I am making, that the end result is comfortable, safe, and attractive. You will not find sharp edges on my wires--I have a three step process to smooth and round out the wire ends. You will never receive an ear wire that I wouldn't happily wear in my own ear.

All of my wires are made from strong 20 gauge wire, be they sterling, copper, brass, or the occasional gold filled. I find this gauge of wire to be strong and light enough for majority of folks to wear. I am constantly researching my styles, updating the way a wire sits in the ear lobe, or perhaps a small adjustment to allow a wire to bear more weight comfortably. They may only be a small part of your final creation, but I know how vital this small part is.

Please feel free to ask about customized packs of any of my shapes and styles. You can also find new styles in my other shop, http://duet.etsy.com, where I use a lot of styles I don't offer regularly in this shop just yet. I'm happy to discuss any of the styles you see there, or to work with you on creating a brand new style just for you.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Money Order
  • Other Method
Payment
I accept PayPal, Google Checkout, Money Orders and Cashiers Checks. Payment is due within 3 days of purchase. I will send two politely worded reminders along with an offer of assistance to guide you through the payment process. At the end of day 3, I will cancel the sale and re-list the item unless we have made other arrangements prior.
Shipping
I ship via the USPS, using First Class Mail. All orders totaling over $50 will be insured by me, at my cost. If you wish to upgrade your method of shipping, add insurance to an order under $50, or otherwise adjust your shipping method from plain First Class, please contact me before you make your purchase.

Orders placed from outside North America do have a higher shipping charge. This is because they require more work on my end to ship. If you are agreeable to the insanely high prices the USPS charges for upgrading to Global Priority, then I'll happily do so for you.

I charge actual shipping for Priority packages. My regular shipping charges include packaging, gas, and time used to ship for all regular orders.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you do not purchase insurance on an order under $50, I am not responsible for the loss of it, should it become lost by the USPS. The cost of silver makes it impossible for me to be as generous as I would like to be--if I want to continue to meet the needs of my fellow jewelry artisans, I have to draw a hard line on this issue.

I can do exchanges on items unless they are a shape created just for you. The exchange will be even--$12 worth for $12, etc. You must contact me within 2 days of having received your order for me to consider an exchange.
Additional policies and FAQs
Are your silver wires sterling silver?

---yes, all of my silver ear wires are made of sterling silver.

What gauge is the wire you use?

--I use 20 gauge wire for all of my ear wires. I find this gauge is strong and light enough for majority of people to wear.

Are your wire ends finished?

--I have a three step process to ensure that all of my ear wires are smooth and burr-free. I would not sell an ear wire to you that I wouldn't wear myself, and that means No Sharp Edges.

I don't see a variety pack that suits my needs, can I make a specific request?

--you can always convo me with specific variety pack requests. I will determine if I can make it for you and get back to you as soon as I can.

Do you take really large orders? Can I get a discount?

--There may be times when I can accept a really large order (say, 50 pairs or more) but there will be certain requirements (prepayment, more time, etc) that will be discussed before your order is finalized. I cannot give discounts on larger orders, as my prices are already as low as I can make them. That being said, I do have a price break at ten and fifteen pairs of a style.

Can you oxidize silver or give copper or brass an aged look?

--I sure can, and at no extra cost to you! Just let me know if you want any, all, or part of your order oxidized.

I really want a bead pack you have listed, but I need a matching clasp, too. Can you make one for me?

--99% of the time, yes, I can, for an additional cost.

I love these coiled beads, but I need them in a different size/amount. Can you make them that way for me?

--Ask! I will let you know as soon as possible if I can meet your needs, and most of the time, I can.
