Very happy with my purchase !!
Want to Know More???
❤❤❤❤ Hello! ❤❤❤❤
DuhBe is a team of one (Luci), working from my home studio that would have been a family room if I didn't have so much crafting and sewing equipment and supplies.
I've posted photos on this page to show how I create the embroidered faces and other assembly steps. Of course, I left out the photos of the fun hours hunting for textiles at estate sales and thrift shops. (I LOVE that part!!)
I have been making dolls and stuffed animals since I was a teenager (um, a few decades I guess) I have worked in many mediums before finding "my style" which includes natural fibers from high quality, upcycled clothing, and embroidered faces that I design myself. I also like to include patches and rough edges because life is messy, so my dolls tend to go that direction as well. Each of my dolls are "one of a kind." I can re-create the faces, or use similar fabrics between dolls, but each is unique from the others.
What else can I tell you?
❤ Nearly all my fabrics are used/vintage, and are thoroughly cleaned before I sew with them. I prefer wool, linen and silk but will sometimes use cotton. I'm not a fan of polyester or acrylic but may use it when the fabric is gorgeous.
❤ I take pride in my work and never want a doll to fall apart.
❤ As a former engineer, I would say that I include more than a little engineering into my dolls.
❤ I take child safety very seriously, so each listing tells you whether that particular doll is safe according to the laws of the consumer product safety commission.
❤ I've made various textile related arts and crafts which were sold in this DuhBe shop over the years. I've also run Ballyhoo Bath as a separate shop on Etsy, but I no longer have a soap lab in my current home. Now it's mostly dolls and embroidery.
I've been on the internet for a really long time! You can find me on Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr as well as my ol' blog at www.DuhBe.com. See the "Related Links" on the right side of this page -->
I'm a forty-something-ish lady who digs up high quality fabrics and stitches them into little guys with funny faces. I'm inspired by TED talks about the wonder of human imagination, physics, gardening, and why things are the way they ARE.
Serendipitous fortunes to you, and have a lovely day!
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
- Money Order
- Other Method
Most people pay immediately with purchase. But for those who want to buy now and pay later (like on payday?) I'm willing to make arrangements with you.
My shipping prices are based upon USPS (US Postal Service) domestic priority mail if shipment is over 1 pound. International shipping goes out as international parcel via United States Post Office.
I will combine shipping to get you the lowest price when you buy multiple items from me.
Note to customers outside the USA -
The BUYER is responsible for all duties, taxes, tariffs, and handling fees changed by the customs office of your country. You may have to pay these fees to your post office in order for them to release your package to you. I have no way of knowing these fees at the time I ship your package, but an internet search should be able to locate the customs policies for your country if you want to find out this information in advance. Every country has different rules on this matter.
Refunds and Exchanges
I will guarantee you receive your item in good condition, as described in my listing, with measurements true to item description
Please contact me immediately if you are not happy with your item for any reason and we will arrange to work out a fair solution of refund/exchange/trade.
Additional policies and FAQs
I will not be accepting custom orders in 2015. This is so that I may focus on re-starting this Etsy shop.
