Once upon a time, there was a word...

My parents didn't want my sister and me watching too much TV as children, so my choice of alternative entertainment came from library books! The art of storytelling captured my attention, and I began devouring book after book, often returning to the library twice a week to delve into yet another creative world! So I suppose that's where my love for words began...

that met a drawing...

The illustrating and doodling came along a little later. My grandfather was an artist who painted larger-than-life murals on the sides of orphanages and churches. He often went on trips to other countries, sharing the beauty of the world translated through his fingertips. I felt l could walk into the bustling streets of Venice in one moment and visit luxurious French gardens in the next. I wanted to be able to create my own voice and encourage others to smile and think...

and they lived happily ever after...

And that's how Duly Noted, ink started! My love for words at play and illustrations to help reinforce the idea of the words drew me to hand lettering and discovering creative ways to share my art. My husband joins in on my pursuit of puns, and works on his hobbies while I letter away like a madwoman on the dinner table in hopes that you'll enjoy what I make and share it with others!
