About MuddPuddleStudio
Because of my wonderful customers and supporters I am able to live my dream of making a living creating art.
You could say it was tunnel vision. A single focus I had from the very beginning.
As a young man I can remember only wanting to do one thing with my life. Create art. In my early stages it was all about drawing, mostly because I was never exposed to other types of media. I perfected my craft up to high school when there I had my first ceramics class. It was truely love at first touch. Clay was the perfect conduit for me to express my ideas and emotions.
I borrowed a pottery wheel for the summer in 2000 and began making tons of work. They were not very good in the beginning. Ceramics is a labor of love that takes a lifetime to master. I did my first fair that summer and got back so much great feedback. I quickly learned that it is extremely difficult to make a living creating art. I worked so many different jobs trying to find one that fit as well as art did, all the while creating during the evenings.
I went to school for web design, graphic design and animation. The clay must have gotten into my blood becsuse I soon found that no matter what I did I was always thinking about ceramics. I decided that if I was going to be successful, I would have to focus on my ceramics full time and give it everything. That's when I created Mudd Puddle studio. The idea that you never know what is going to emerge from the Mudd(clay).
Without all my wonderful customers and supports I would never be able to actual live my boyhood fantasy!!
So thank you!!
