In the summer time I love that I can work outside in the garden
Testing a new design, all designs are tested by myself and other crafters, to make sure they are snag free.

Searching for a box of extra time....

It all started when my oldest was born. I was used to 60 hour work weeks as restaurant manager and when he was born I was laid off. Way to much time on my hands :)
I bought a book how to knit and learned myself how to knit. The first patterns I wanted to make were written so poorly that I thought: "I can do better"
Thus Dutch Knitting Design was born, I started with a few patterns on etsy, and was thrilled that Knit on the Net and Knitty.com wanted to publish my designs. I kept designing and writing patterns for my own line but also for Yarn Forward magazine and The Knitter Magazine.
Then I thought... "I would love to design with my own yarn" bought some books and did a lot of research on the internet, bought yarn (way to much yarn) and dyes.
Some were sold on etsy but I mostly did a lot of shows and markets.
I loved it all, but it got a bit much including paying attention to the 3 kids and husband. in 2013 I decided to stop with dyeing and working shows and markets. And divide my time more evenly between work and family. The following few years I could hardly work at all, family life was hectic and my family needs always come first.
Halfway 2017 I really wanted to be more creative and to start working again. It was quiet the puzzle how to balance my need to be creative and work and the special needs of my kids.
Somehow the need to do household chores always falls behind ;)

And now at the end of 2018 I think I found that balance. I keep designing and writing patterns and try to design and create usefull and pretty tools for crafters, during the hours my kids are not at home.
The hours that I'm not creating or taking care of the family, Are spend at the client board of a national expertise centre for children and adults with communication disorders (developmental language disorders, sensory developement disorder, autism, deaf, deaf/blind)

Gift wrapping and packaging

All items are always gift wrapped and send securely in bubble wrap envelopes. If you wish your items to be gift wrapped as singles please convo me, I'm happy to accomedate your wishes.

Can you send the item directly to some one else?

Yes, simply put the name and address of the recipient in the notes section when you order, including the message you would like me to write to them.

Please note: when I ship international I am requeried by law to add information on the envelope about content and price. No surprise for the recipient if they carefully inspect the envelope. This is just a disclaimer, in my experience the envelope gets rarely a closer look :)

what is the processing time of my order?

Processing time is the time it takes till your order is ready to ship.
All products in the shop are ready to ship in one bussiness day.
When placing a Custom order, you are informed how long it will take till your order is ready to ship

How long is the shipping time?

You can find the normal shipping times in my policies.
Those are the times that our postal service states on their website and most of the time they are pretty accurate.
If you use the upgrade shipping it will take a few bussiness days longer to arrive due to the extra secured shipping route.

BUT: those shipping times do not include the time delays caused by customs, hollidays or weather conditions.

What if I am not happy with my purchase?

I take great effort to make the complete order process from ordering to receiving as pleasant as possible.
Making accurate pictures to show the real product
I communicate with you only about the status of your order.
I answer convo's in a timely manner (mostly within a few hours)
Standard gift wrapping to make you feel happy about your

That said, sometimes, you buy something that in reality doesn't meet your expectations. Please feel free to convo me directly through etsy and we will work something out.
